Awesome Suspension Performance and Front Leveling

Leveling your truck and getting a smooth factory ride don't always go hand-in-hand. Many aftermarket leveling kits reuse your stock suspension hardware which leaves you with a factory ride and suspension performance at best, if not worse. Bilstein, one of the biggest names in performance suspensions, cuts out the middle man with this 5100 shock kit that includes high-quality adjustable front shocks. These shocks allow you to set your 2009 to 2013 F150's front ride height to stock, +.75", +1.5", or +2.25" of leveling by using their adjustable spring seat tabs. The adjustable design is paired up with legendary Bilstein quality and performance that let you take these dampers anywhere for any application you have in mind without fear.

Steel-Cased Monotube Shocks with Unique Piston

Each of these shock absorbers feature an ultra-strong steel body with a zinc plated finish that protects against corrosion. The shocks all feature a monotube gas-charged interior design with a digressive piston and self-adjusting deflective valving which allows each shock to work at varying ride heights and give your truck improved articulation in off-road application. All four shocks feature a large 46mm diameter that gives them a huge oil volume for less fade during heavy and sustained articulation off-road. This complete kit is a direct bolt-on replacement for your factory shocks and can be used with your factory front coil springs and rear leaf springs.

Fitment: this kit will only fit trucks with 4WD. Another kit is available for 2WD F150s.

2014 F150 Fitment: this kit will not have proper, bolt-on fitment to a 2014 F150 due to changes Ford made to the 2014's front suspension. Call 1-877-578-2433 for more information.

Although I had some trouble with UPS finding my house, these Bilstein adjustable shocks showed up in a reasonable amount of time in perfect, brand new condition. After becoming familiar with the procedure via YouTube, I jumped on it in my driveway using jacks, jack stands and basic hand tools (plus a strut compressor I rented from AutoZone). I started with the rear shocks, which were very simple and were installed in about 5 minutes each. I then tackled the front struts. The original struts came out in about 10 minutes each, and went back in in about 45 minutes. I set the new shocks to the tallest setting (~2.25" over stock) and traded out the parts required from the original struts. This allowed me to fit Cooper STT Pro 295/60r20 tires on stock FX4 wheels with no rubbing whatsoever. The struts went back in with no issues...once I completely disconnected the upper control arm. The ride is stiffer than stock, but perfect for me (I also went from stock tires to a load range E tire, further stiffening the ride). Around corners, the original struts/shocks made the truck feel like a listing boat. Now the suspension is tight and positive more like a car. I'm very happy with this product and the resulting suspension feel and look of the truck now. A word of advice, however, is to also purchase a camber bolt kit to accompany this product if you're going to max out the height. Although it can be aligned without the camber bolt kit, it's easier (and more repeatable) with the camber bolt kit.

These new Bilstein shocks made an incredible difference in the stability of the ride compared to stock ones with 25,000 on them. The truck doesn't lunge when going into a corner, and when you hit a chuck hole, there isn't a big thud. I should have done this when I first bought the truck. I left the front height stock, because I usually travel in the #1 lane on the freeway at a good speed, didn't want to change headlight setting, and didn't up size in tires. This is second truck Bilstein has been on of mine.Installation and allignment done by Ford dealer, 200.00. I would highly recommend thsee shocks.

First Stage 3 Rocks, great price, great customer service and fast shipping. The Bilstein 5100's not only are an upgrade on the overall ride of the truck, they gave me the added height needed for my 34.5" inch Nitto Trail's but also leveled out the truck with just a slight rake. Perfect plug and play! Backs 1/2 hour tops, front a little more involved with the springs, adjusted them to top 2.25. If your looking to improve your ride, level out your truck, fit a bigger tire without put an actual lift on your truck, look no further!

Great shocks and an excellent upgrade from stock. They are, as has been said several times, more stiff, but they make up for it in recovery and major reduction in body roll. I went the extra step and put a Hellwig rear sway bar and set these shocks at their third setting (1.5 inches.) Truck looks level, handles tight and rides solid. Well worth the money.

This is the best leveling kit for the money. It took about 2 hours a side and a few beers but install was not that hard to do with simple tools. My spring compressors were not long enough so I rented them free from the local parts store. I had an alignment done after a few days to let the springs settle and it rides great. They ride comfortable and my truck has minimal body roll when taking off ramps. I bought these because I put a Western Mid-Weight plow on my truck. These really make the truck ride comfortable especially with the 500lb plow on the front. We just had our first snow storm and the extra height in the front with the great ride made plowing with this set up a breeze.

So I got these as a gift from my girlfriend for Christmas I knew the quality would be great. As all bilstein products I own. soon as they were delivered I installed them at work. Install was easy and straight forward. The ride is still stock feel but a bit firm but no biggie no complaints if I lower it will obviously soften up a bit but I love the ride height at full clock it levels it out perfect.

Product shipped fast and was an easy install if you have a hydraulic press. I don't recommend the hand held spring compressors on this truck. I've put several hundred miles on these shocks and they're great. I got the perfect amount of lift in the front and the ride/handling quality is nothing less than what I would expect from Bilstein. Definitely a great product at a great price.

These shocks are much better than the Stock shocks that came on F150. Installed the back myself in about an hour. Had the front ones put on at a tire shop for about $250.00. I had the shop put the shocks on the .75 setting or second setting. The second setting gave me about an Inch of rake from front to back and a little more clearance for 275/70/r18 tires which are taller than stock. Ride is a little more stiff, but you don't bottom out when driving down dirt roads with deep ruts. Great service from Stage3, just about buying all my truck stuff from this site now. Love the reviews and Q&A section.

Had the front set at 2.25 and with the rear blocks it still has some front rake but that's what I was going for. Rear is about 1 inch higher than the front. Great price on a great kit.

I installed the rear shocks on my F150 in about 30 minutes and had a garage install the front struts since I didn't have a spring compressor. The ride is definitely firmer than stock, but in a good way. Much more controlled on the rough PA roads and almost completely took away body roll in turns. These are a way better option than spacer blocks to level out your truck.

Excellent service and shocks. First of all I was impressed with how fast they arrived so thank you Stage 3 Motorsports for prompt delivery. I bought my truck new and was very unhappy with the performance of the OEM shocks. I had a leveling kit that I wanted to remove but did not want to fully go back to stock. This was the answer and after about 1k miles I'm very pleased. I had them set at the middle adjustment which was perfect for my taste. My wife also noticed a difference in the ride and these shocks have removed the body roll that she and I hated. My buddy is a service manager of a local dealership so I had him install these and remove the level kit so I cannot review ease of install. Overall very pleased and would recommend this kit.

I purchased the set of Bilstein shocks for my 2010 Ford F150 Super Crew. I had 110,000 miles on the original shocks. I am very happy and satisfied with all aspects of purchasing these through Stage 3. The order process went smooth and the shocks arrived in just a few days. I installed the rear shocks myself which were easy and didn't have to even jack up the truck. I had the front shocks installed at my Ford dealer since they are part of a strut assembly and needed alignment afterwards anyways. I DID increase the front truck height by about 2 inches moving the ring up ONE NOTCH on the shocks. This brought up the front end and basically leveled the truck out. I also went up one size on my tires from a 275 to a 285. It is a good upgrade to the suspension.

Left ft stock shock was leaking on my truck, decided to go this route vs stock. Noticeably stiffer ride, which is fine, better handling, also at the same time installed new tires which were LT rather than P tires. overall happy, installed at the first increment of lift in the front, appears to have leveled the truck off well, not my goal with this kit, but a nice option. Seems to have taken some of the secondary chassis rebound out of the ride. Easy to install as well. I checked the alignment, did not need adjustments.

This kit is great, brought the truck up nice and level. Wasn't prepared for the fronts though, rented a spring compressor from O Reilly's there was no way that would have compressed the springs far enough to get those new struts bolted in. Luckily a friend had a 5 ton press that did the job just fine. Took a little enginuity to get the whole contraption in the press but once we figured it out it went quick. YouTube has great videos on how to disassemble the front end for easy removal and install.

Hands down the best upgrade I've done to my truck so far. In fact, If I could only make one upgrade, it would be these. I originally went with the 2" Autospring spacers and ended up taking those off and putting these on about 6 months later... I found that the spacers allowed my control arm to come into contact with the spring and it would make a loud "thud" every time I hit a bump or did any sort of off roading... Not only is that terribly annoying but it was causing some pretty substantial premature wear. Not good. Save yourself the frustration, do it right, and just go with the Bilsteins right off the bat. They're a bit more of an investment, but they offer a massive improvement in performance AND looks, rather than just looks like the spacers. With the new struts, everything is aligned well and rides smooth as butter. I also noticed a major reduction in body roll after installing the Bilstiens. Buy these - you won't regret it!

Rear end floats a lot more and corners with bumps are handled much better. I had one hiccup, both shocks had their center bolt come loose and I heard it bouncing around. Used the impact and tightened it down again. They call for 34 lbs for torque for the nut. My guess is I didn't go that tight and when the truck is put on its own weight, it lossened. So far so good now. Shocks feel like they are made of solid material and makes my truck look good?

2012 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4
It took about 1.5hr to install everything. I installed them a week before my trip from Arizona to Oregon. They don't perform as well as I expected but this is the most economical way to go for the looks so I can't complain. Stage 3 did a great job getting me the product in a timely fashion.

Once I figured out what I was doing installation went pretty good. The coil springs are super stiff, you might want to rent/buy two sets of coil spring compressors. I was worried about one breaking and killing my buddy or myself. I had 2" leveling blocks before so I went with the 2.25" height. It lifted the truck exactly as it claims. The truck handles much better everywhere with the bilstiens! The front suspension geometry is better and it doesn't allow it to "bottom up" like it would before. The tires seem to track the ground really well and my ABS doesn't kick in on a couple turns it used too. The only complaint is that the rebound is too strong, which makes speed bumps a little harsh on the down stroke.

I got these after researching online for weeks. Wanted a leveling kit to be able to install 20x10 wheels. Went with these so the ride would be comparable to stock. The truck rides great - don't really notice a difference from stock but I guess it is a bit firmer (truck has 67000 miles). I put at top setting and it looks like almost level but with a little rake remaining.

Installed by a local shop. Amazing ride and huge improvement over stock. Set to max and I clear my 35s easy with no rub (using Raptor wheels). Great value for running 35s.

For the money I couldn't be happier with this set up. The install was pretty straight forward; I accomplished it in my garage in one evening. Other reviews state a "stiff ride"; I would more accurately call it a firm/ planted feel. "Stiff" has a hay-wagon connotation to it... My truck gained EXACTLY 2" of lift in the front, definitely not the 2.1" or 2.25" as some have said; not complaining, just sayin'. Quality seems good and time will tell how they hold up to the desert heat and off road abuse.

Installed these shocks and struts in about 3hr. The Rear shocks wen on in about 10min and rest of the time was for the front struts. Thats with minimum power tool. I used the second to top ring the 1.5in level because I still haul and load quite a bit of stuff. These shock ride great, stiffer than what I had but my stock shocks and struts were worn out to say the least. I would highly recommend Stage 3 motorsports and these bilsteins to anyone

2010 F150 4x4 crew. Very happy with product. Bought truck with 185000 miles, had broken front coil spring. So I chose to go with these shocks at same time.Took me about 1.8 hrs. per side. I whent with the second from top groove for the clip setting, and it came out about level with the naked eye. My guess is with the miles on truck, the rear springs have settled a bit. I feel if I had replaced the rear springs too, if I want truck to sit leve, I would have chosen the very top groove

Install was a cake walk on the back, the front just took time but was easy if you know what goes where. The quality of ride is so much better than my stock shocks. I had put pucks in the front for a level, my ride was garbage, bended up replacing ball joints too. These shocks do a great job for leveling and off road!

Used the second setting which perfectly leveled my 2011 f150. The ride is much better now and the truck sits where it should. I highly recommend this kit for the money. I also considered rancho quick lift but this made more sense and was cheaper.

Do yourself a favor don’t putthese on the front of your truck. Had to take them off after trying both the top and lowest setting. POS, feels like you have no shocks at all. Shouldn’t be allowed to sell them. #worstshocksever
