Stage 3 Motorsports and the rest of the aftermarket performance parts world more eagerly embraced the eleventh generation F-150s from 2004 to 2008 than their predecessors. The eleventh gen trucks just had it all: great looks, decent power and near-flawless reliability. The only real issue is that everyone and their mother had one. That's where we come in. We have all of the 5.4 F150 Cold air intakes, 2004-2008 F150 Hoods, Performance Exhaust and More that make your Ford truck one of a kind.
"First" Modifications for the 2004 to 2008 F150s
If you've got a bone-stock, plain-Jane F150 in your possession, you're probably wondering where exactly to begin. Nearly everyone's first purchase is a cold air intake. We here at Stage 3 have cold air intake kits for both the 2004 to 2008 F150 5.4Ls and 2004 to 2008 F150 4.6L V8s. Cold air intakes can snag your truck as much as 10 horsepower and 10lb-ft of torque at the crankshaft without any PCM tuning, all while providing improved filtration over the stock disposable paper filters. Cold air intakes are easy to install and even add gains in throttle response and fuel economy. We've even installed several different types of intake upgrades on our own trucks, and we can answer just about any question or concern you may have. Our 2004 F150 Project Truck received an
Airaid Jr. SynthaFlow intake kit, our 2007 F150 Project Truck received an aFe Stage 2 Cold Air Intake Kit, and our 2005 F150 Project Truck received an Airaid SynthaMax Cold Air Intake Kit.
While a cold air intake is nice, by far the mos effective power upgrade for your 2004 to 2008 F150 is PCM tuning, and we here at Stage 3 can provide tuners from some of the best names in the business, as well as even more potent custom tunes from 5-Star Tuning. A performance PCM tune works by changing key parameters of your truck's Powertrain Control Module, adjusting things like fuel curves, ignition timing, shift points, and other computer-controlled functions of your engine to help your truck get improved horsepower, torque, fuel economy, and transmission function all in one go. Most tuners come with fairly standard "canned" tunes that are pre-built for use with just about any truck that the tuner or monitor is hooked into. A custom tune is a whole different animal and is specifically programmed for use with your particular truck. Our custom tunes come from 5-Star Tuning, one of the leaders in F150 custom tuning, and their custom tunes can be built around both your preferred fuel octane and application to get you the perfect tune for your aggressive truck.
The last of the "first" modifications is generally a cat-back exhaust kit. While a 2004 to 2008 F150 cat-back exhaust system generally won't give you much or a performance gain, they do give your V8-powered F150 a very impressive sound. We here at Stage 3 carry both single-exit and dual-exit cat-back kits for your truck, all of them from some of the biggest and best names in the performance exhaust industry. We have kits that can give your everything from a mellow purr to a ferocious roar so that you get the exact sound you want for your custom F150 build. We've even done an impressive amount of our own exhaust system testing on our 2004 Project truck. Check out the videos below:
2004 to 2008 F150 Lighting Components and Upgrades
If there's one thing we have plenty of for the 2004 to 2008 F150s, it's lighting parts, and these truck's respond remarkably well to a wide range of aftermarket lighting components. Our very own 2007 F150 Project truck is decked out with a complete Recon Smoked Lighting Package that consists of new headlights, taillights, and a third brake light that give your truck a total overhaul and makes an excellent platform for future lighting upgrades and other exterior accessories. If basic replacement lighting components still aren't cutting it for your late-night trail rides, then check out our impressive selection for Rigid Industries Off-Road LED lights and light bars. We have Rigid Dually Lights, D2 Lights, E-Series Light Bars, and SR-Series Light Bars all in different size and lens configurations to meet your truck's off-road lighting needs.
Lift Kits and Suspension Upgrades
Want to turn your 2004 to 2008 F150 into a brutal desert runner? How about a potent rock crawler? Or do you just want some extra ride height to fit on those 33" tires? Whatever your reason, we here at Stage 3 have you covered with a ton of lift and leveling kits from some of the best names in the business. Spacer Leveling kits are our most popular suspension modifications and get rid of your truck's front rake and let you squeeze on slightly larger wheel and tire combinations. Coilover Leveling Kits do the same thing, but also give your truck better off-road performance. For anything else, there's our selection of complete suspension lift kits. Lift kits are the go-to options for getting your truck higher in the air and fitting on truly massive wheels and tires. Our current lineup of trucks have all been graced by lift kits of some sort. Our 2005 F150 Project Truck has a Zone 4" Suspension Lift Kit, our 2004 F150 Project Truck has a Pro Comp 6" Suspension Lift Kit, and our 2007 F150 Project Truck has a Zone 6" Suspension Lift Kit. The end result on all of these trucks was nothing short of incredible, and the lift kits, wheels, and tires dramatically changed their looks for the better.
With a few aftermarket performance upgrades, the 2004-2008 5.4L F150 can be one of the most off-road-capable trucks you'll ever find. Whether you're gearing up your truck for towing and hauling heavy loads for work or trying to get the most out of it for all-out fun at the sand dunes, forest trails or through any snowy or muddy conditions, our aftermarket parts will make the difference in helping you to get the most out of that 5.4L Triton V8 engine in no time. Here at Stage 3 Motorsports, we don't just talk the talk we also take our trucks out and beat them up to make sure the upgrades and modifications we're suggesting for your truck will actually perform the way we hope they will. Take a look at some of our recent escapades through the desert as well as snowy forest conditions to get an idea of the kind of extremes you'll be able to push your off-road-ready F150 to once you've made some of these aftermarket upgrades.
