An Ode to the 2008 Shelby F150 Super Snake

Riding high off their success with the SVT-Licensed GT500s and their very own GT350s, our dear friends over at Shelby American decided to lend their insane brand of genius to America's most popular vehicle. Out came the F150 Super Snake in 2008. Shelby's truck came standard with an impressive aero body kit, aggressive heat extraction and ram air hood, stylish interior, revised suspension, massive 6-piston brakes, and a 5.4L Triton V8 topped off with a Whipple 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharger that brought power levels up to 475 horsepower and some 500lb-ft of torque. Alas, the experiment didn't last long, and the Super Snake is now a coveted collectors item.

However, you can get more power than Shelby's Super Snake by grabbing a Whipple Supercharger for your very own 3V 5.4L V8 F150. The newest generations of Whipple's superchargers throw down an impressive 525 horsepower and 580lb-ft of torque at the crankshaft thanks to some revised designs and new PCM programming that came out in the intervening years. Whipple's 2.3L Twin-Screw superchargers are some of the best options for trucks that need a ton of power all in one place, and these blowers respond extraordinarily well to further upgrades like smaller pulleys and long tube headers to make your tough truck even more monstrous.
