Leave it to us here at Stage 3 Motorsports to get the most out of the 5.0L or 6.2L V8 under the hood of your 2011 to 2014 F150 with our massive assortment of powerful F150 V8 performance parts and accessories. We have just about anything you could possibly want for your 5.0L Coyote V8 or 6.2L Boss V8 engine, as well as the rest of your aggressive F150 build. The V8 F150s have a ton of potential, and a few basic bolt-ons like 5.0L Cold Air Intakes and 6.2L Cold Air Intakes and 5.0L custom tuning or 6.2L custom tuning can make good power, while exhaust modifications like 5.0L Cat-Back Kits and 6.2L Cat-Back Kits allow for these big V8s to produce a tremendous and aggressive roar that will definitely turn some heads both on and off the road. For truly massive power, you'll need to invest in an F150 5.0L Supercharger Kit or F150 6.2L Supercharger Kit.

2011 to 2013 F150 5.0L and 6.2L High-Performance Upgrades

What's better than an American pickup with a big V8? The list is pretty narrow, as far as we're concerned, especially when you add some additional performance and styling modifications to your 5.0L or 6.2L F150. Both the 5.0L Coyote V8 and 6.2L BOSS V8 put up very impressive horsepower and torque numbers in their factory form, but it's so easy to hammer out some more horsepower and torque. Unfortunately some of the original factory stock components are restrictive and rob the power potential your big engine is capable of generating at its best. Obviously, even at stock, power isn't lacking but where you'll definitely notice a big difference in performance comes in off-road capability and towing. That's why we here at Stage 3 never stop looking for the latest and greatest modifications to get your tough F150 performing at its peak, regardless of how many miles you've tacked on already.

Cold Air Intake Systems

Adding a Cold Air Intake is most definitely one of the first modifications we recommend on the list of important performance upgrades that can increase the horsepower and torque as well as improve fuel economy of your F150. The stock air box and intake that comes from the factory is not only inefficient and restrictive on both the 5.0L and 6.2L engines, but it can be costly over time, as the disposable paper filter needs to be replaced frequently and doesn't do a great job of filtering out harmful contaminants as well as dust and dirt from your engine. It's a known fact that your engine performs at its best when its getting a heavy dose of cool charge air to the intake. Hot air does just the opposite. By replacing your factory stock intake system with one of our 5.0L Cold Air Intakes or 6.2L Cold Air Intakes, you can get excellent amounts of power. We equipped our 2012 F150 5.0L FX4 with one of our favorite systems: The F150 5.0L AFE Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System. This complete intake system flows up to 20% more efficiently than the 5.0L stock intake system and can add up to 9 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque while improving throttle response and fuel mileage without the need for any tuning. Not only does it give you a noticeable increase in your overall performance, but it also gives your engine compartment an awesome custom look as well.

From K&N, aFe and Banks to AIRAID, Volant and Boss, we carry all of the top names in the Cold Air Intake industry. While each has its differences in form and function, they will all do quite a bit to increase your horsepower, torque and throttle response while improving on your fuel economy. For a modification that is relatively inexpensive, this is one of those modifications we believe is on the top of your "to-do list" if you're trying to get more power for off-road performance or improved towing capability. Take a look at the Dyno-Testing results that AIRAID found with their F150 5.0L AIRAID SynthaFlow Cold Air Intake (Oiled):

Upgrade To A High-Performance Throttle Body

While you're at it, one of our favorite complimentary upgrades to a Cold Air Intake is a high-performance Throttle Body. BBK has an excellent 5.0L Throttle Body that has shown Dyno results of up to +12 horsepower for your F150. Together with a Cold Air Intake, the two can really give your truck that reliable increase you've been looking for. Just like our intake systems, installation of an upgraded high-performance Throttle Body is relatively simple and painless.

Our Exhaust Systems Improve Sound Quality & Performance

The easiest way is with a cat-back exhaust kit. We here at Stage 3 have both 5.0L F150 cat-backs and 6.2L F150 cat-backs that add a huge sound to your truck's exhaust note. In addition to the aggressive sound you'll get, there are also some nice gains to be had in horsepower and torque as well as improved fuel economy. The factory stock system comes with pipes that are small in diameter and a muffler that is huge and bulky and restricts air flow. From dual or single exiting cat-back exhaust systems to your choice of powder-coated black tips or polished stainless steel tips, our selection of high-performance exhaust systems are proven to not only improve the sound and performance category, but reduce engine robbing EGTs as well. The 5.0L Solo Performance MACH-X Dual Exhaust System - 157" Wheel Base is one of our best selling Dual Exhaust kits right now for the 5.0L V8s trucks:

Swap Out Your Stock Manifolds For High Performance Headers

While you're upgrading you're exhaust, consider one of our most popular header kits for the 5.0L trucks which comes from MBRP. If you're really serious about adding an aggressive sound and getting and getting some excellent power gains, then see our 6.2L F150 headers or our 5.0L headers sections.

Lift Your F150 To Add Some Off-Road Tires & Custom Wheels

With a lift kit or leveling kit, of course. Our 2011 to 2013 F150 lift kits come in all shapes and sizes and allow you to tailor your truck for a specific application. For your daily driver that needs a more aggressive look, we recommend Daystar's excellent 2" front leveling kit that allows you to throw on 33" tires while giving your truck a nice, even stance. If you're turning your F150 into a pure off-roading machine, then a more aggressive 6" lift from ProComp or Zone Off-Road may be your better option. Take a look at what a lift and an aggressive combination of custom wheels and off-road tires did for some of our project trucks:

Get A Ton Of Horsepower For Your F150 By Supercharging It

For amazing, tire-shredding horsepower and torque, you'll need one of our F150 supercharger kits. These bad boys are the answer to all of your power needs. Our supercharger kits for both the 5.0L and 6.2L V8s can instantly add upwards of 100 horsepower with many of our kits approaching or breaching the 600 horsepower mark. Our Roush Phase 1 supercharger kits for both the 5.0L Coyote and 6.2L Boss are our most popular systems, while Whipple's 2.9L kit is the most powerful.

Whipple's twin-screw superchargers are some of the most powerful aftermarket performance parts that you can find for your Raptor or standard F150 and are the crown jewels of supercharger kits for the mighty 6.2L V8 engines. The Whipple W175AX Kit features a massive 2.9L head unit that's combined with a highly efficient air-to-water intercooler, massive inlet tube, high-performance Whipple throttle body, fuel system upgrades, a Whipple supercharger pulley, and Whipple PCM tuning that can give your truck's 6.2L V8 engine up to 635 horsepower and 615lb-ft of torque at the crank for a massive performance gain over stock. Now, how's that for an increase in F150 horsepower?

Tie It All Together With A Tuner

If you're like us here at Stage 3 and you obsess about how to continuously improve the performance of your truck and you've added a Cold Air Intake, Throttle body, exhaust, lift kit, oversized tires and wheels, headers and a supercharger, it's time let your F150's onboard computer in on the changes. First of all, you don't want to risk destroying your engine or creating any other mechanical issues. Secondly, a tuner is necessary in order to communicate all of the changes from the factory settings so your truck can now run at it's peak performance with all of these awesome modifications. Third, and final...the good news. Adding a tuner, at any level can have it's own benefits of increased horsepower, torque and improved fuel economy. Take a look at our 5.0L F150 Tuners or our http://www.stage3motorsports.com/2011-2013-F150-6.2L-Tuners-Programmers.html6.2L F150 Raptor Tuners. By itself, our most popular handheld tuner is the SCT Performance Livewire TS Tuner which, mounted at your dashboard, not only communicates the tune to your F150's onboard computer, but also gives you real-time information about your truck's diagnostics and performance on a touch screen display.

While a tuner alone is great, they only include "canned" tunes that are not tailored to your truck's specific details regarding upgrades and modifications. In order to reach the pinnacle of performance for your 5.0L or 6.2L engine, you'll need to go with custom tuning from 5-Star Tuning. 5-Star's custom tuning for the 5.0L V8 and big 6.2L V8 motors really brings these trucks to life and can compensate for powerful performance parts like a cold air intake, throttle body, exhaust, headers, and of course a supercharger.
