We posted a video on our Facebook page of a few "gentlemen," as it were, jumping a very pretty SVT Raptor. Spoiler alert: the Raptor doesn't stay pretty long.

When Ford says you can jump the thing, it doesn't mean launch it at 60mph off an 80 degree ramp into a glorified ditch you call a landing. Let's chalk this up to general stupidity, a lack of understanding of a little thing called curb weight, and skipping physics class. Despite our great love of all things Special Vehicle Team, the Raptor is a bit of a fatty weighing in at around 6200lbs before you plop your ass in it. That much truck moving that fast over a ramp that steep means a day is going to be ruined somewhere.

To be fair, I don't think there was much of a chance for ANY truck to survive that jump unscathed. Also, when you drive a Raptor, it doesn't feel that heavy. It's got enough power and torque to make it seem athletic, but it weighs nearly a thousand pounds more than an EcoBoost SuperCab.

That much mass moving at a decent clip with a crappy landing means a bad day.
