The great Edelbrock legacy goes all the way back to the company's founding back in 1938 by Vic Edelbrock, Sr and his 1932 Ford Roadster and its Flathead V8. Edelbrock mainly specialized in high performance intake manifolds, carburetors, and cylinder heads that helped propel that old Roadster to 121 mph at Rosamond Dry Lake. Business went on hold during the Second World War, but picked back up in 1946 with the release of their first parts catalog. Edelbrock moved into its very own, purpose-built shop in 1948 which featured one of the first in-shop engine dynos to test all their parts. Edelbrock expanded their lineup of Ford products and even stated building products for Chevy small blocks. Vic Edelbrock, Sr died in 1962 and passed on the business to Vic, Jr

The Edelbrock of the 21st Century still has all of the performance-oriented design of the old days, but has expanded into a monumental operation that encompasses over 500,000 square feet of architecture in several cities across Torrance and San Jacinto, California.
