Mr Whipple, is a 2003 Mustang Cobra thats been
modified pretty heavily. First mod on the car was swapping out the IRS to
a 8.8 Solid rear axle out of a 2001 Mustang GT. The stock SVT Cobra Eaton supercharger was replaced
with a 2.3l Whipple Supercharger pumping out 17lbs of boost. The fuel system was
upgraded with a Kenne Bell boost-a-pump and 60lb injectors. The intake
system was fitted with a Accufab throttle body and a JLT Cold Air Intake - Big Boost. To take care of the added heat of running more boost a LFP
dual pass heat exchanger was installed along with Canton stainless steel
radiator and heat exchanger reservoirs. The drivetrain was then beefed up
with a 26 spline Liberty input shaft and a Spec stage 3
+ clutch. The rearend was then fitted with 3.73 Gears and a Saleen rearend
girdle. The Cobra has been lowered with Roush Stage 3 springs and we've
added upper control arms from UPR and lower control arms from Maximum
Motorsports as well as a set of thier full length subframe connectors.
Future mods will be a UPR kmember with thier a-arms and coilovers up
front, and out back a Maximum Motorsports coilover kit. We also plan on
adding a Fore Precision fuel hat with twin GT pumps and a -8 returnless fuel system.
After that we plan on upping the boost and seeing what this monster will
do.
