The Cold Air box will allow cooler air into your intake which will reduce the exhaust gas temperature (EGT's) which will allow it to produce more power and cool down the temperature in the turbo so you won't melt down the turbo !!!
Air Box is hooded also so it will reduce the noise level compared to another aftermarket intake - It is made out of 16 gauge steel which is powder-coated black.
The Heat Shield is welded completely and has a durable corrosion resistant powder-coating on it. It goes in the stock air box area and requires no assembly or drilling.
