This sleek, retro hood from TruFiber is a direct homage to the hoods found on the 1970 and 1971 Mach 1 Mustangs, and unlike the factory hood scoop (and most aftermarket scoops) the two triangular Mach 1 scoops lead into a functional heat extraction system that cools the engine compartment air for improved performance. The Mach 1 hood fits 2005 to 2009 Mustangs without modifications.
The dual scoop ram air system brings cool outside air into the Mustang's compartment. Two rear vents expel hot engine air into the Mustang's slipstream for instantaneous cooling. TruFiber includes steel mesh grills for each vent to keep debris from entering the intake system. The hood itself is 100% fiberglass with the ram air system completely integrated into the design. The hinges and latches are reinforced with metal as a safety precaution.
TruFiber pre-drills holes for the hood prop and windshield squirters into the hood superstructure. The arrives with a gel coat finish for simple prepping and priming. The Mach 1 hood is a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock hood and reuses the factory mounts. Installation hardware and instructions are includes in the kit.
