- These wheels went through the 7 layer OEM process of chroming. They also had specialized tooling. The process integrates auxiliary anodes used all the way through the final steps. Not just the face of wheel went through this but all 4 distinctive layers of nickel went through the process also to bond it stronger. This happens as proprietary rear auxiliary anodes flow âliveâ throughout the layers of nickel. In addition all of the wheels used the finest Zincate, true blue cold hexavalent chrome, and were copper plated for 2 hours. So the wheels were chromed at a greater current and have a thicker deposit on them. With this process they were made to last. Not just look good.
