Customer Question The manual says to unplug the stock up fitter switch for this. Does this mean you will no longer be able to use them?

Customer Answer According to BD Diesel, the High Idle Control module does not technically disable the Upfitter switches. However, it does disable the pigtails that go through the firewall. You would need to run the wiring for the accessories you want to use with the upfitters through the firewall and into that footwell instead of using the capped pigtails in the engine bay.

Customer Question Can this high idle kit be activated with the engine already running or does it only be utilized during initial start?

Customer Answer This can be used as long as the transmission is in park, and can be used with a currently-running engine.

Customer Question Does it use an upfitter switch?

Customer Answer It does not. It comes with its own dial so that you can modulate your idle level. While you could probably tie it into your upfitter switches, you would lose that ability to dial in your idle speed to where you need it.

Customer Question IS THIS HIGH IDLE CONTROL KIT A PLUG AND PLAY OR IS THERE ANY WIRING TO CUT INTO. ALSO DOES IT WORK IN PARK AND NEUTRAL OR JUST PARK AND DOES THE HANDBRAKE HAVE TO BE ENGAGED. DOES IT DISENGAGE WHEN YOU TOUCH THE THROTTLE OR BRAKE PEDAL?

Customer Answer The wiring for this kit is completely plug-and-play, and only minor drilling is needed to mount the kit's dial somewhere on your dash. The High-Idle control only works with the transmission in park and emergency brake set. It will not work in neutral or with with emergency brake off or if the brakes are pressed.

Customer Answer BD's High Idle Control Unit actually plugs into the stock up-fitter wiring connector behind the front passenger side kick panel.

Customer Question I ne a higher idle on my 17 Ford F-350 6.7 to feed cows. I typically let my tucks drive themselves while I'm feeding on the back not sure this truck will crawl by itself. this is probably a stupid question but while the truck is in gear can you adjust the idle or does it return to stock?

Customer Answer Not a stupid question at all. Unfortunately, this unit only works when your truck is in Park, and is really meant to help make trucks with PTOs more effective. According to BD Diesel, the module essentially "fools" the PTO circuit into increasing idle speed, but the PCM overrides that circuit under a variety of conditions, including when the truck is in gear. Unfortunately, BD Diesel does not currently have a device or module that can help you walk your truck in drive.
