Increased Capacity and Improved Cooling

The Mag-Hytec 9.75 diff cover is stronger than your stock differential cover and offers improved cooling and increased capacity. This heavy-duty diff cover comes complete with a bolt kit, drain plug, and dip stick. Ford used the 12-bolt 9.75 on the rear of the EcoBoost trucks from 2011-2022, while the front is an 8.8 differential.

Textured Powder-Coated Black

Mag-Hytec's heavy duty differential cover sets your vehicle apart in both aesthetics and function - cast in A356-T6 aluminum and texture powder coated black with machined cooling fins. Magnetic drain plugs trap worn gear material promoting fluid integrity. Each unit is fitted with ARP 568 O-rings for superior sealing. All hardware is 303 stainless steel.

Ford 9.75" Rear Ends Only: this differential cover will only fit Ford 9.75" rear ends, and will not fit F150s with an 8.8" rear end or a Super 8.8" rear end. Please confirm your F150's rear end size and bolt pattern before ordering.

Most of 2004-2014 F150s with 4WD came with a 9.75", but you can double check by counting the bolts. The 9.75" rear ends have a 12-bolt cover, while the 2004-2014 F150 8.8" rear ends used 10-bolt covers. How many quarts of oil does this differential cover hold?

According to Mag-Hytec, this cover can hold up to five quarts, though you'll want to put in a little less than that if you also need to add friction modifier for an OEM or aftermarket clutch-type LSD.

How do I know if I need a friction modifier? I have a 2014 5.0 f150. 4x4 STX

You only need friction modifier if your truck has an OEM clutch-type limited slip differential or an aftermarket clutch-type LSD. Check your truck's Axle Code on the door information sticker to find out what differential type your truck is equipped with.
