Increased Capacity and Improved Cooling

The Mag-Hytec 9.75 diff cover is stronger than your stock differential cover and offers improved cooling and increased capacity. This heavy-duty diff cover comes complete with a bolt kit, drain plug, and dip stick. Ford used the 12-bolt 9.75 on the rear of the EcoBoost trucks from 2011-2022, while the front is an 8.8 differential.

Textured Powder-Coated Black

Mag-Hytec's heavy duty differential cover sets your vehicle apart in both aesthetics and function - cast in A356-T6 aluminum and texture powder coated black with machined cooling fins. Magnetic drain plugs trap worn gear material promoting fluid integrity. Each unit is fitted with ARP 568 O-rings for superior sealing. All hardware is 303 stainless steel.

Ford 9.75" Rear Ends Only: this differential cover will only fit Ford 9.75" rear ends, and will not fit F150s with an 8.8" rear end or a Super 8.8" rear end. Please confirm your F150's rear end size and bolt pattern before ordering.

2011 F150

I had a leaking rear pinion seal so I figured why not kill 2 birds with one stone. Looks alone are 5 stars as is but the build quality is phenomenal as well. Make that rear diff look good and get a little extra gear lube.

2010 Gen1 Ford F150 Raptor 6.2

Best Diff Cover out there for the price, looks and performance. Very easy install, albeit messy. Totally changed the look of the rear end, and with the integrated dip stick and drain plug, I can now do all my own diff lube changes at home versus having to bring it to the dealership for service. I used a Milwaukee M18 Impact Wrench to remove the OE bolts. Note that the replacement bolts from Mag Hytek are Allen Keys. Hardest part of the install was removing the OE Diff Cover once all the bottom bolts had been removed. I ended up having to use a flat screw driver and rubber mallet to get the cover off. I purchased a Gasket Scraper on Amazon for 10 bucks to scrap the OE seal off the housing. But it was all worth it. It's awesome. Lots of compliments from folks in parking lots and trails.

Do you know if this cover will clear a Hellwig rear sway bar on a 2020 F-150? I noticed the AFE cover specifically mentions it won't work, but this one doesn't say

We can't strictly guarantee it. According to Hellwig, their rear sway bar sits roughly 4" off the stock differential cover. The Mag-Hytec cover is roughly 3.5" long, so the clearances are pretty tight. How do I know if I need a friction modifier? I have a 2014 5.0 f150. 4x4 STX

You only need friction modifier if your truck has an OEM clutch-type limited slip differential or an aftermarket clutch-type LSD. Check your truck's Axle Code on the door information sticker to find out what differential type your truck is equipped with.

How many quarts of oil does this differential cover hold?

According to Mag-Hytec, this cover can hold up to five quarts, though you'll want to put in a little less than that if you also need to add friction modifier for an OEM or aftermarket clutch-type LSD.

will this fit my 2016 f150 5.0

As long as your truck is fitted with a 9.75" rear end, Mag-Hytec states that it will fit. However, 2016 F150 5.0Ls could come with either a 9.75" or a Super 8.8" rear end, and you need to verify which type you have before you order.

This cover will likely not fit your truck. Most 2.7L F150s and RWD trucks come with a Super 8.8" rear end, and this cover only fits 9.75" rear ends. If you're unsure what rear end your truck has, give us a call directly at 623-434-5277.

how do I determine what size ring gear I haveinmyf-150creew 4x4?

Most of 2004-2014 F150s with 4WD came with a 9.75", but you can double check by counting the bolts. The 9.75" rear ends have a 12-bolt cover, while the 2004-2014 F150 8.8" rear ends used 10-bolt covers.
