just installed this system on my truck. great sound and great construction. the time between order placement and received at my door was great. borla customer service is great. only thing I would like to see is a little more detail on the clamp installation in the instructions. I would recommend this system to anyone that wants a great sound without it being excessively loud and also a great sound at regular driving speeds.

Installed easily, instructions clear. Chose middle sound, just aggressive enough without being obnoxious to neighbors. Absolutely would purchase again.

2016 F150 RCSB 4x4 5.0
I bought this for my RCSB 4x4 with a 5.0 not realizing it wouldn't fit my truck as-is, brought it to an exhaust shop and after taking some length out it fit perfectly! Very well designed and the quality is superb! Exhaust tone is very aggressive when on the throttle but no back rapping...also NO DRONE at highway speeds...barely noticeable which keeps my wife happy :)

Great product, looks great and sounds great. The exhaust removal and installation took about 2.5 hrs in my home garage using jack stands. I'm an amateur jack of all trades kind of guy. And I did it by myself.

2016 F150 3.5 ecoboost
I installed the S type dual exhaust on my 2016 3.5 ecoboost back in Jan 2020. I listened to the noise levels and hype at 3 stage and other youtube sites before my purchase. They rated this exhaust as a 4 on wake the neighbors scale. That is total bullshit. The S type for the 3.5 ecoboost dual exhaust should be rated a 1 on wake the neighbor scale. Its quiet and unless your punching it, it sounds like a kitty purrr. Don't buy the S type if you want an aggressive sound. Buy a flowmaster 40 or something else instead.

Sounds absolutely awesome. I think every now and then that I wish I had gone with the ATAK, but it just would have been a little annoying to me personally (and to all of my neighbors).

2019 F 150 5.0
This exhaust is at the perfect sound level. Alone this catback has a rather quiet tone, that is just a little bit louder than stock during normal driving. At WOT it wakes up at let's a little more of that 5.0 voice come through. If you have the option to put your truck into sport mode it will add more volume and rumble to the exhaust note. Who just stops at exhaust alone? Once the Cold Air Intake gets installed she can inhale and exhale like she wants. At this point she really sings. Every note of the exhaust is inhanced. It definitely has some volume. Overall great Cat Back. Next step, longtubes.

This exhaust has really hit the mark. It did sound too quiet at first but after some break in it really has good sound all around. Zero drone on the highway and cruising around with the family is never obnoxious until the little ones want to hammer down. Stage 3 has been impressive with my orders. This system arrived at my house in under 48 hours of ordering. Thank you!

Customer Question I have a reg cab, short bed f150. Is it just a matter of cutting a piece of straight pipe to make this fit my short wheelbase?

Asked by: GT-Kid - 7/20/2020
Customer Answer We haven't tried this kit ourselves, so we can't guarantee that's all you'll need to do. You may have an issue with available length due to the forward resonator included in this kit. You may have to get a really short, custom inlet pipe made by a local exhaust shop.

Customer Question This may be a dumb question but will the heat from the exhaust mess up the back up sensors in the bumper?

Asked by: Jim - 3/21/2019
Customer Answer Not dumb at all. The position of the tips does not effect the backup sensors. By the time exhaust gasses reach the tips, it's fairly cool, and further dissipates before it can cause an issue.

Customer Question are any of these clips done with the 3.5 eco? I see the one on the right is a 5.0 and the ones on the left sound ALOT different. I have the 3.5L and want an idea what its going to sound like, not into the tin sounding ones on the left

Asked by: chris - 3/24/2017
Customer Answer Borla's video on the left is this kit on an EcoBoost F150 (not sure if 3.5L or 2.7L, though), and the kit will be more similar to the left video on your truck.

Customer Question Hi I'm looking for a great sounding exhaust but quiet when driving on the highway. As i do a lot of highway driving and talking on the phone for business.. can you recommend this will be ok ?

Asked by: Ron - 1/27/2017
Customer Answer I haven't personally rode in a truck with this kit installed yet, but the S-Type system for the 2009-2014 F150s didn't have a ton of drone, but there was a noticeable sound in the cab. If you're using the truck to conduct business calls while at highway speeds (hopefully hands-free), then you'd likely be better off with the Borla Touring Cat-Back Exhaust System.

Customer Question Do you know why Borla started to include a resonator with this kit? How much does the resonator affect the sound between 2011-2014 and 2015-2017 5.0 engines?

Asked by: Dexter Courville - 1/19/2017
Customer Answer It was mostly done for drone control, from my understanding of the situation. Overall sound outputs should be similar, though I haven't personally heard them side-by-side as of yet.

Answer provided by: Jason@Stage3 (1/20/2017)
Customer Answer The resonator is mainly to dampen any drone once you're cruising at highway speeds, it doesn't however affect the exhaust note that you're looking to achieve, if you're looking for a more aggressive exhaust note, the ATAK is the way to go, sounds wonderful, but I prefer the S-Type (once you get out of the loud pedal, it settles down and quits shouting!). Can't go wrong with either of the 3 Borla systems though...

Customer Question Does this system require the removal of the spare tire?

Asked by: Anthony - 3/22/2016
Customer Answer Not permanently. Borla's instructions have you remove the spare tire for installation of the kit to give you some extra clearance, but the spare tire can be reinstalled once the Borla kit is in place.

Customer Question Interested in sound quality. I would like a sound close to stock. What type of sound quality does this system have?

Asked by: Paul Wilson - 12/11/2015
Customer Answer The Borla S-Type kits are pretty aggressive and will be a good deal louder and more aggressive than stock. The Borla Touring Cat-Back would probably be closer to your need.s
