I had these shocks on my 2010 RWD F150 and just put them on my 2018 RWD F150. New truck had less than 500 miles on it before I made the switch. That's how much I like these shocks. Leveled the front as well. Fast shipping by Stage 3.

These fit excellent and install was just as easy as any other shock/strut install. Installed all four within a Saturday morning. You will definitely need spring compressors (available for rent from your local parts shop), I would also recommend but not necessary an impact gun, impact ratchet and ratcheting wrenches.

This is one of the best upgrades that I made to my truck! It should have come from the factory like this. I set it on the 1.75 setting which was perfect. I have just a slight hair of rake, which is what I wanted(can't tell without a tape measure though). It rides perfect and feels like the truck is more planted to the ground. The angles of the tie rods and ball joints didn't change much at all, which was the main thing that I was worried about. You have to get an alignment though because it pushes your toe in some. Its perfect now though!

Absolutely a must for these f150 makes the ride nice and firm install was a breeze the only thing the bolts the send with them are weak I was snugging them up and snapped 2 of the bolts wasn't crazy tight or anything yet I'd recommend upgrading them to grade 8 bolts

Great Package, Installed them on a 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum and they leveled my truck beautifully like the truck was meant to be leveled. I had them professionally installed took them about 2 hours to finish, had them do an alignment right afterwords and the truck drives really smooth like new again and I can tell the difference of the 2 inch height in the front. This was a great price for the whole set you can not beat 3 Motorsports on this package, thanks guys.

I had a shop install the fronts and do the alignment, rears I did myself. Rears were 25 minute install (removing stocks and installing bilstein) no jacks needed. Right off the bat, I didn’t feel a huge difference driving around town. I used my stock springs which have about 35k miles on them. But, it was night and day difference when it came to bumps, railroads, washboards, etc. The truck feels way more planted, and is very smooth over bumps. The front end also does not dive nearly as much when on the brakes. I haven’t done any trails yet, so I can’t speak on that aspect, but I have done quick little cuts through the desert by my house and I am very pleased. I have the fronts installed at the top setting. The truck does not sit perfectly level (which I am okay with, it is close enough).

I bought these shocks to level my truck and very glad I did. Not only did it level the front with the back but the ride is 10x better than stock! Night and day difference. I had a local off-road shop install them and align it after and it looks amazing ! Great price and fast shipping along with excellent customer service! I would recommend these to anyone looking for a better ride and a level front. No more stinkbug!! All I need is some 33s and some nice off-road wheels and it’s done!

Installed these recently with the full level setting in the front and the ride is great. The truck sits level and looks great. I wanted better quality then the leveling puck kits and these fit the bill perfectly. Highly recommend for those that don’t want to spend double on some of the others out there.

Excellent Kit! The Bilstein 5100 Leveling Kit is an incredible value. The highest setting (2.1") leveled my truck perfectly (as expected) but I was blown away by the improvement in handling. My truck was a big sloppy mess on the stock shocks... WAY too floaty! But the valving of these Bilsteins makes the truck feel more solid and predictable. Honestly, between the leveled stance and the improved handling, these trucks should come factory with these shocks. Fwiw, installation was simple and shipping from Stage 3 was fast.

When I bought this truck I noticed it would rock side to side a lot more than my old 2003 F-150 when coming into or out of my driveway at an angle. I've always noticed the rear hop over bumps in a curve but recently I had the hop happen on a freeway at 65 MPH which kind of scared me. Not sure what would have happened if the pavement was wet. That got me looking for new shocks and these are just what I needed. The rear hop isn't gone completely but much much better and safer. The truck also doesn't rock side to side near as much anymore either. A local mechanic wanted almost $400 to install the front shocks so I did the install myself instead. It was my first time installing these kind of front shocks so the first one took me about 3 hrs and the second only 1.5 hrs. It's not really that hard to do. I do recommend ratcheting closed end wrenches (with a swivel head) for the 3 top nuts and on the ball joints.

2016 f150 XLT SUPER CAB
I drive an extended cab 6.5' bed 5.0 XLT on a very poorly maintained dirt road. Everytime I hit some washboard I could feel my rear end searching. It wouldn't try to pass, but it would "hunt". It felt a lot better if I turned traction control off. Since I put on the Bilsteins, I no longer have to turn off traction control and I have even better results. Truck is PLANTED. Fronts are set to max height and made it almost level. I think my my measurement was 1/2"-1" fwd rake, which was good because I hate seeing trucks looking like they're popping a wheelie. I added a stock 4x4 rear block to the rear and couldn't be happier. It's perfect.

Installation was an all day job to do at home on my garage, but it was well worth the effort. Body roll is gone, the front end is perfectly level now, and the handling is greatly improved. Surprisingly, I have not seen any drop in my fuel economy either. No regrets about this purchase.

The rear took me less than an hour. I had the fronts done. I did the rears a week before the front and could already feel the difference. The turning lean was gone and most of all the bed hopping was gone. I should have done this when I bought the truck.

2019 F150 Super Crew STX 5.0 2wd
My 2019 shocks felt mushy after 45K miles, so wanted to put some new shocks. At the same time wanted my truck to be little higher than factory setting. This is perfect combination if you ever want to upgrade your new shocks. Order Bilstein 5100 complete kits F&R, Spring rear add a leaf kit, and SPC HD camber & caster kit. After all the install, it lifted my truck 39" front and 40" in the rear (ground to fender). Basically 2" lift front and 1" lift in the rear, total of 39" F and 40" R. The best upgrade I've done for my truck. Rides very good, feels really grounded, little harder than factory shocks, but it feels good over freeways and local streets. I highly recombed these combos. Later when times comes, I'll do upper and lower control arms, nothing fancy, I like it just the way it is. Looks great and drives great.

Easy to install, great quality, they ride nice, lots and lots of bumps in my city, so they help a lot. I bought the 4x2 kit, unfortunately, and for unknown reasons, the front of the truck went down like 1 inch on the second snap ring position, when it says it will give you 1 up. so weird! What I mean is Iost one inch from original stock shock absorbers height. I will replace my tires soon, so I may end up in the 3rd. position snap ring to gain again the 1 I lost. Any ideas?

Customer Question I have a 2019 F150 STX 5.0 V8 stock. Would like to change shocks so was looking into this Bilstein 5100. This will lift my truck to 2" front and 1" in the rear? Will I need to change anything else like control arm, ball joints, camber bolts, etc? Thanks.

Customer Answer This kit will lift a 2wd F150 2.1" on the front at the max setting, and rear shocks are long enough to handle you adding up to 1" above stock. The rear does not do any lifting, and if you wanted to raise the rear ride height you would need to add a block or add-a-leaf kit.

Customer Question Do these shocks have any issues with rust over time? I live in South Louisiana in a salt rich enviornment. If so is there a recommended coating to prevent rust?

Customer Answer Being an aluminum bodies shock, they are more resistant to corrosion, but you are still going to want to wash the salt off during the winter months as bushing sleeves, bolts, etc are not aluminum and you could still have issues. We don't salt the roads here in southern Arizona so we don't have any personal coating we can recommend that we have first hand use of.

Customer Answer The front struts could be feasibly be used with a 6" lift kit, if your currently lift uses strut spacers to achieve its lift. The rear shocks cannot be used with a 4" or 5" rear block, much less something with an add-a-leaf stacked in. Customer Answer The Bilsteins will fit with the MaxTrac front spindles. However, if you are using a complete MaxTrac lift kit with a rear block, the Bilstein shocks will not be long enough.

Customer Answer The rear shocks are only rated to handle 1" of rear lift over stock, and aren't long enough for a 2" rear block. You could mix-and-match and use the 4WD Bilstein rear shocks and the RWD Bilstein front struts and just set the fronts to a 0" ride height to get the result you want.

Customer Answer It will not. Bilstein has not confirmed fitment of the front struts on the 2021 F150s and will likely be coming out with new part numbers specifically for the 2021 F150s. However, Bilstein has confirmed fitment on the rear shocks.

Customer Answer You can run the 4WD kit and the 4WD rear shocks on an RWD truck, though we strongly recommend using a 1.5" rear block kit or a take-off 4WD rear block to keep the shocks in an optimal travel range.

Customer Answer In general, we recommend using Eibach's RWD Pro-Lift Springs. However, those springs do provide lift. If you're looking for springs that maintain a stock ride height, your best bet would be OEM springs.

Customer Answer Upper control arms are not strictly required with this kit, especially if your truck is predominantly going to be used on the street. That being said, if you are going to be off-road on the regular and really articulating your suspension, then aftermarket UCAs are generally a good idea.

Customer Question After reading that you can squeeze some extra height by using the 4wd version of this lift, would there be extra harsh CV angles or other issues or would it still be within a safe height? If so , to keep factory rake or close to factory rake what size block would be needed in the rear?

Customer Answer The RWD F150s do not have CVs, and the UCAs, tie rods, and LCAs don't really have issues with the additional ride height. We have not installed the 4WD version of the Bilsteins on an RWD truck, so we're not sure what the exact front ride height gain is. The maximum size rear block you can use with the Bilstein 4WD rear shocks is a 2.50", which will give you back some rake, but not to the same degree as stock. This particular kit can only handle up to a 1" rear block.

Customer Answer We have not tried it ourselves, and we can't guarantee fitment. At a lowered height, you may have issues with the valving of the shocks, which are really only meant for stock or slightly lifted heights.

Customer Question I have already purchased some other parts for towing mods. Strut spacer for the front (2.5) and add a leafs in the rear (1.5 - 2.0). I was looking at this kit for the shocks and struts if I end up needing to replace what I have on the truck already. I have the RWD truck.....do you recommend the 4wd kit to go with the extra height of the add a leafs?

Customer Answer The rear shocks of the 4WD kit would be a much better choice, since the shocks meant for the RWD trucks can technically only handle 1" of lift over stock. If you do go with the 4WD version of this kit, you would need to ditch the 2.5" strut spacer, since the 4WD struts provide more lift on the RWD trucks than what they're rated for on the 4WD F150s.

Customer Answer We don't recommend it. Rough Country's 6" Lift Kits tend to be "tall" 4" lifts that use the same dropped crossmembers and knuckles as the 4" lift kits, but come with a taller strut spacer to hit a 6" lift height. Doing this already throws off your suspension geometry by some degree, and we don't recommend going higher.

Customer Answer Unfortunately, the rear shocks in this kit are only rated for 1" of ride height over stock. If you're going to add a 1.5" rear block, we strongly recommend jumping up to the 4WD rear shocks to be in a more optimal travel range.

Customer Answer The 4WD kit will work just fine on an RWD truck. The real question for you is what else are you doing to your truck. You really should only jump into the 4WD kit if you're adding a larger rear block and going for a more 4WD-esque stance. If you're not going to add a rear block, then you should stick with the RWD system, since the shocks will be in a more optimal range of travel.

Customer Answer You'll at least be close to level. In general, it takes 2.5" of leveling to get the 2015-2019 F150s to a dead-level stance, so technically, with a 1" drop in the rear, in theory, you'd need to do a 1.5" level to be dead-level and the 1.26" will probably still leave a little smidgen of rake, though it probably won't be too noticeable.

Customer Question Just ordered this kit recently, but am thinking about also putting a 1 - 1.5" block in the rear - hoping to get more of the 4WD stance. Will the 2WD kit be okay with a small rear block, or am I better off returning for the 4WD kit?

Customer Answer You would be much better off with the 4WD rear shocks, at the very least. Whether you you want to return the fronts, depends on what kind of stance you want to end up with.

Customer Question Im looking at the install video and it shows they disconnect the actuator lines and replace them but don’t use a vacuum pump when putting back all the components. Does one not need the vacuum pump when install these shocks/struts for the front?

Customer Answer A vacuum pump is not required for installation. The IWE Actuators do not hold vacuum when the truck is off, and RWD F150s do not have IWEs at all.

Customer Answer You could add a 2.25" leveling spacer on top of the front strut assemblies of this kit, if you leave the 5100 struts set at a 0" factory ride height. You really wouldn't be able to use the 5100s at a taller ride height in conjunction with a 2.25" leveling kit due to pushing your ride height too high and causing geometry problems.

Customer Question I have a 18 F150 Lariat Crew RWD, and I was looking at something that will level my truck while also being to fit some 33 on 20’s. I notice that this only goes up to 2.1, what do you recommend for a more leveled look of the 2.5?

Customer Answer This kit will be able to allow you to clear 33" tires. However, it does only go to a maximum height of 2.10", which tends to leave a hint of rake. You could potentially run the Bilsteins and add a spacer of some sort on top of them, or you can use the 4WD version of this system to help you squeeze out some more ride height.

Customer Question The Bilstein site mentions the B8 5100 33-253237 rear shock is adjustable from 0-1" yet I can't find anything how to adjust this height. Is it really adjustable?

Customer Answer The rear shock is not adjustable. However, it can handle up to an additional inch of rear lift over stock. The shock does not actually lift the rear of the truck. To add rear ride height, you need a larger rear block, add-a-leaf, or new leaf pack.

Customer Question I see suggestions to use the 4WD version if seeking 2.5” of lift on a 2WD truck. This may be a silly question but ... are the 2WD and 4WD version interchangeable without other modifications?

Customer Answer They are interchangeable, since the upper and lower mounts of both the front struts and rear shocks are the same on both RWD/2WD trucks and 4WD F150s. The only difference is length, with the 4WD F150s having slightly longer front struts and rear shocks. It's not uncommon for folks with 2WD/RWD trucks to use 4WD versions of shocks or coilovers, especially if they're looking to add a 1.5" (or taller) rear block.

Customer Question If I were trying to fit 275/60/20 fallen Wildpeak AT3 tires on the stock 20 inch wheels and a 2016 RWD could I get away with the 1.76 setting and no rub? Also, if I were to buy the 4wd kit and didn't buy a rear block would my rear end just sit unusually high?

Customer Answer That particular tire should fit just fine on the stock wheels at the 1.75" ride height setting of these front strut assemblies. If you were to use a 4WD kit without a rear block, you would not gain any rear ride height at all. Shocks alone do not add ride height. Only rear blocks, add-a-leafs, or complete leaf packs can change rear ride height. If anything, using the 4WD kit would get you closer to dead level to slightly nose high due to the slightly taller front strut assembly versus the RWD trucks.

Customer Answer In general, basic bolt-on suspension upgrades like shocks and strut assemblies will not have an effect on your F150s' Powertrain or Bumper-to-Bumper Warranties. That being said, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships, so your best bet would be to talk to your local Service Advisor about what kind of leeway they give.

Customer Answer Eibach's Pro-Lift Springs are only for 4WD applications. While you could technically use them with this Bilstein 5100 kit and install the combination on your truck, we cannot guarantee what kind of ride height or ride quality you'd get at all.

Customer Answer The strut assemblies in this kit only level up to 2.10". To get to 2.5", you'd need either a 2.5" spacer or a 3-inch capable coilover.

Customer Answer An alignment isn't strictly required after installation, however, we strongly recommend getting an alignment with any leveling kit in order to correct your truck's toe angles so you don't get excessive tire wear.

Customer Answer Even at this kit's maximum 2.10" of ride height, you will not fully level out your F150's stance, though its rake will be greatly reduced. In general, it takes 2.5" of leveling to get the 2015-2017 F150s at a "dead-level" stance.

Customer Answer The rated lift height on the strut assemblies is 2.10" over stock, and the 4WD F150s stand slightly taller than the RWD F150s from the factory. The 4WD F150s also come with a rear block in the rear, which necessitates a longer shock. Most RWD F150s do not come with a rear block from the factory.

Customer Question I was wondering if the front will work with my existing 2" spacers? Can I still adjust these two inches so I get a total of four inches. I have 2.5" blocks on the rear with stock shocks right now. I was wondering if the ones in this kit are stock length or longer

Customer Answer While you can technically use the Bilsteins with your spacers, we don't recommend taking your total ride height above 3", as that's roughly the maximum height that your UCAs can handle, and even at that height, they'll likely rest on your springs at full droop. The rear shocks can't be used with a 2.5" rear block. They can only feasibly handle an extra 1.5" of lift, since they aren't much longer than stock and only have slightly more travel. If you are looking to squeeze out a bit of extra lift and find a shock that will handle a larger 2.5" rear block, my suggestion would be to use the Bilstein 5100 Kit meant for 4WD F150s, which will help you get about 2.5" of front lift at their highest setting, and the rear shocks can handle your larger block.

Customer Answer The kit will technically bolt up to your truck, however, the shocks and struts are specifically valved for the lighter 2015-2017 F150s, and Bilstein does not currently have a front strut meant for the 2014 F150s with RWD.
