Upgraded 6061 Aluminum Cold and Hot Side Pipes

The 6.0L Powerstroke diesel is a great engine, especially after bulletproofing however the weak links in the charge air system must be addressed. One way to address that is to install this kit from HPS. It is common knowledge that the factory hot side is known to fail at the turbo boots part of the reason for this is that the steel that is used in the pipe. HPS saw this and decided to create a new pipe out of 6061 aluminum that helps reduce the weight on the boots by 50 percent. This kit also includes the cold charge pipe that is completely modeled after the OEM part and replaces the original plastic with 6061 aluminum. The aluminum Cold Side Charge Pipe is also an upgrade to early model steel pipes for those who want to reduce weight and simply want to add some color to the engine compartment.

Easy Installation Thanks to New Boots And Clamps

The actual OEM boots are created with silicone and reinforced with two layers of polyester. This is not enough because over time the hoses will degrade thanks to the amount of oil that breathes through the turbo. HPS created theirs with a fuluoroelastomer liner that helps allow constant flow of oil without negative consequences. Instead of the stock's 2 layers of polyster these have 4 layers of aramid fiber which raises the maximum operating temperature to 500F. As far as installation, HPS includes stainless steel spring loaded T-Bolt clamps that are created out of 300 series stainless steel and offer great corrosion resistance.
