While a 4.56 ring and pinion gear set is usually only reserved for hyper-aggressive drag strip cars, trucks that are looking to throw on huge wheel and tire combinations will actually need a set of these very short gears to get back proper drivability and get their power band back into a much more effective range. Heavy-Duty Gear Steel with Lapped Teeth

Each G2 F150 gear set is built from the ground up with strength, reliability, and a quiet operation. The ring and pinion gear set in this kit are made out of forged 8620 gear steel that's heat-treated in a computer controlled process to ensure maximum strength. The gears are then double shot peened for even greater strength and ultimate reliability in just about any application in which you can find your truck. The gear teeth on both the ring and pinion are double-lapped to assure near-OE fitment and a smooth, quiet operation. The gears are built to OE specifications and are a great choice for both performance and replacing worn stock gears.

For Ford 8.8" IFS Front Ends Only: this gear kit will only fit Ford 8.8" Independent Front Suspensions only, such as those found on 1997 to 2022 4WD F150s. We strongly recommend using one of G2's Master Install Kits when putting these gears on your truck.
