Increased Braking Control

While the braking system on the 6.4L Powerstroke diesel might be fine for stock trucks that are used for typical daily driving, when it comes to towing or hauling heavy loads having more control over your stopping power is crucial. BD Diesel created their Exhaust Brake Control kit to close off the turbine vanes, giving you different levels of braking with the touch of a button. The Exhaust Brake is an excellent safety upgrade that provides you with 3 different levels of braking for your Super Duty. BD Diesel designed this control with a push-to-engage switch that installs in your cab and lets you choose from the off position to Modes 1 (braking only) and 2 (braking & shifting) with ease.

For Use With Stock & Modified Super Dutys

The Exhaust Brake kit comes in handy during those times you're in between gears when downshifting while keeping your engine safe. For more aggressive downshifts, you can also move the shift lever to manual for complete control of your braking system. The Exhaust Brake is superior to any other similar modules on the market and is safe for use on stock as well as heavily modified Super Duty trucks. The kit includes the control module, Easy-To-Engage Switch, wiring harness and installation instructions.

Operation Modes:

• (Mode 1) Off: The truck operates normally with no additional hold-back.
• (Mode 2) Braking Only: This mode closes the turbocharger vanes during deceleration. This does not alter the transmission gear. To achieve maximum hold-back, increase engine RPMs by shifting to lower gears during deceleration.
• (Mode 2) Braking & Shifting: This mode closes the turbocharger vanes during deceleration and also down-shifts the transmission as the vehicle speed decreases once the brake pedal is pressed. For more aggressive downshifts, move the shift lever into the manual mode and control shifts manually.
