Extremely Powerful SVT Raptor Supercharger System
Whipple's twin-screw superchargers are some of the most powerful aftermarket performance parts that you can find for your Raptor, F150, or F250 and are the crown jewels of supercharger kits for the mighty 6.2L V8 engines. The Whipple W175AX kit features a massive 2.9L head unit that's combined with a highly efficient air-to-water intercooler, massive inlet tube, high-performance Whipple throttle body, fuel system upgrades, a Whipple supercharger pulley, and Whipple PCM tuning that can give your truck's 6.2L V8 engine up to 675 horsepower and 655lb-ft of torque at the crank for a massive performance gain over stock. The Whipple W175AX system's high-powered design and supporting hardware are more than enough to take your 2010 to 2014 SVT Raptor, 2011 to 2013 6.2L F150, or 2011-2012 F250 6.2L up to the next level or beyond. Smaller pulleys and more efficient heat exchangers can turn up the juice even more to help push your 6.2L V8 Ford truck of choice to its absolute limits.
Features Immensely Powerful 2.9L Twin-Screw Head Unit
The Whipple 2011 to 2014 SVT Raptor and Ford truck supercharger kit is built around one of Whipple's legendary Lysholm Twin-Screw supercharger head units. The Lysholm design is far more efficient than Roots-style supercharger systems, flooding your engine with up to 2.9L of air per revolution for massive horsepower and torque gains. The twin-screw design features an interlocking set of rotors that force air between their grooves and forward along the casing, effectively compressing inbound charge air before it even exits the case. The compressed air passes through an oversized air-to-water intercooler mounted within Whipple's specially designed intake manifold to maximize air volume and density before dropping into your truck's cylinders to maximize efficiency to give this system its huge power potential. The supercharger's rotors are driven by a 3.500" pulley that delivers up to 9psi of boost pressure with Whipple's PCM tuning and the factory crankshaft pulley that gives the kit its impressive power without overly stressing your truck's stock internals. Despite the fairly low stock boost pressure, Whipple's supercharger can handle up to 30psi of boost for absolutely insane engine builds.
Complete High-Flow Intake System
Each of Whipple's 2.9L supercharger kits come with a whole host of supporting upgrades that give your 6.2L V8 engine a nice overhaul and help the head unit make all of its brutal power. The kit includes a full set of intake system modifications beginning with a large, open-element air filter, massive 172mm inlet tubing with integrated MAF housing, and a GT500 throttle body that all work together to mitigate restrictions and give your head unit all the air it needs to make its fearsome power gains. Whipple's intake system does not cause fitment or rubbing issues with your truck's coolant reservoir, allowing you to keep the tank in it's factory location.
Features Options for High-Capacity Heat Exchangers
The Whipple W175AX 2.9L supercharger system is extremely friendly to upgrades, and Whipple even provides a few of their very own to turn your powerful blower system up to the next level. The kit features an option for a new Whipple heat exchanger that has a large, over-sized design and dual electric fans to cool your truck's coolant before it returns to system's manifold-mounted intercooler to improve efficiency, reliability, and power potential. Along with the heat exchanger, Whipple provides a bunch of supercharger pulley options that allow you to dial in your kit's boost levels as you see fit. Check out the table below for a list of pulley sizes and their potential boost levels:
PULLEY SIZE
PEAK BOOST
3.500"
9psi
3.375"
10psi
3.250"
11psi
3.125"
12psi
3.000"
13psi
2.875"
14psi
2.750"
15psi
All boost levels are estimated, may vary from truck to truck, and are based on the stock crankshaft pulley size. Pulleys smaller than 3.250" in diameter will require a smaller supercharger belt for proper function. Smaller pulleys may require custom tuning depending on your truck's other modifications. Smaller pulleys
are not
recommended for trucks with stock internals. Larger pulleys with less boost pressure are also available.
Includes Fuel Upgrades, PCM Tuning, and Hardware
The Whipple 2.9L Supercharger kit comes complete with a full set of 47lb/hr fuel injectors, supercharger belt, and installation hardware, instructions. To get your truck properly tuned, Whipple now includes an SCT X4 tuner that allows you to easily load Whipple's tune into your truck without a ton of hassles.
Fitment:
2010-2014 SVT Raptor 6.2L
2011-2013 F150 6.2L

2013 f-250 extra cab shortbed
Very nice kit. Fit and finish like OEM. Power gains impressive. Some minor missing hardware I replaced from the local parts store and the instructions didn't match my truck but customer service worked closely with me and made it right. Overall I'm very happy with this product! Thank you, Rocky

2014 Raptor SVT 6.2
I bought the Whipple Twin Screw 2.9 Kit through Stage 3 Motorsports put on my 2014 Raptor. Excellent upgrade, opted for the Stage 2 Heat Exchanger and Twin Fans.Never ever got hot Fuel Mileage out on the road was better than stock by about 2 mpg. Performance was just right, nice and smooth not aggessive at all. Sold the truck bad mistake. Went looking at all the new Chevy 1500s and a couple of Rams but nothing stacked up like the old Raptor. So I just bought another 2014 Raptor with 43,000 Miles (70,000 kms) and will be doing the same thing again. (Tip) do what I did and put on a serious Big Brake Kit Mick Brisbane Australia

Will this fit a 2013 F250 with a 6.2? The tuner kit states it comes with the SCT X4 with tunes preloaded. Did not know exactly what was needed to make this fit
Asked by:
Ken
- 3/20/2023
This kit will not fit a Super Duty out of the box, and the tuning won't be compatible out of the box. You would need some custom intake, plumbing, and other possible modifications. You would also need custom tuning on a chassis dyno. We haven't installed this kit on a Super Duty ourselves, but it is possible.

About how much would it cost to have this installed in West Texas? And is there a shop in that area that can do it?
Asked by:
Will
- 12/14/2022
Shop rates can vary pretty wildly. In general, this kit takes about 10-12 hours to install. Install is not overly difficult, but there are a lot of steps and it is time-consuming. Any performance shop with some ASE-Certified techs can handle it.

What is the estimated hp with the supplied 3.5" pulley?
Asked by:
Tdoin
- 10/12/2022
Whipple doesn't provide definitive numbers, since they can vary depending on tire size, engine condition, fuel quality, ambient conditions, etc. Whipple's test truck hit 508 RWHP from a stock level of 335 with the base supercharger, included pulley, and Whipple's tuning.

How does this supercharger kit affect long-term reliability of the truck. My current f-150 raptor has a little over 100k miles and I am hoping to at least get another 100k out of it. Would that be possible with this kit?
Asked by:
Will
- 10/29/2021
Any increase in power and torque puts extra stress on your truck's powertrain, and we can't guarantee how and it what ways this supercharger may impact powertrain lifespan. That being said, with good maintenance on a motor and transmission that are in good condition, this supercharger won't overly harm lifespan.

Are there any modifications necessary to the transmission to handle the increased torque and HP for long-term use and reliability? Also, can a motor with over 100,000 miles handle this performance upgrade in your experience? Lastly, do you offer installation? I'm located in Mesa, Arizona
Asked by:
Joe
- 10/30/2020
In general, the stock 6R80 can handle the torque without issues as long as you're not hitting the drag strip every weekend and doing hard launches and making sure it's up-to-date on fluid and filter changes. As long as your motor is in good running condition, you can still use this supercharger at 100,000 miles, but you should probably give it a good once-over and get it compression tested and/or leak-down tested before taking the plunge on this supercharger system.

Whipple generally uses their own flare tool for loading tunes, but they may have SCT-compatible tunes available. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can put in a custom order.

How much power can the stock transmission handle? Would this kit be detrimental to it?
Asked by:
Jacob M
- 12/10/2018
The 6R80s are actually pretty stout. I believe Ford rates them at a conservative 590lb-ft of torque, and a lot of folks have pushed WELL beyond that without issues on both the Mustangs and the F150s/Raptors. That all being said, if your truck and its transmission has a good amount of miles on it, you may want to have your torque converter and clutches checked for wear and tear before making the jump to the Whipple Kit.

How will the supercharger preform as far as constant pulling? As I pull a fifthweel camper regularly.
Asked by:
James
- 3/13/2018
The supercharger will be able to handle it fine, and likely make the job much easier. That being said, you'll need to be careful about your coolant temperatures and staying in boost at low speed since you're going to want a good amount of airflow to be flowing through the supercharger's heat exchanger when you're really pushing its performance.

Does the tuning for F250 take advantage of running E85 with its higher octane rating? Do fuel injectors handle the E85?
Asked by:
Blackbart
- 1/4/2017
The out-of-the-box tuning for this system is for premium 91+ octane fuel. For e85 tuning, you'd need a tune on a chassis dyno or you can call us directly at 623-434-5277 for e85 tuning options.

with this add on should you need to do work to transmission and rearend?
Asked by:
raptor2011
- 10/22/2016
Only if you're not 100% confident in your transmission or rear end's running condition, or if you plan on using this supercharger with other modifications and getting really aggressive with your pulleys and/or tuning.

Would there be a need to change out the rear end to handle the additional HP and Torque? I am concerned about the gears ability to handle the increase.
Asked by:
Gorodn
- 8/23/2016
As long as the rear end is in good operating condition and you're not constantly launching the truck, the stock rear end is more than beefy enough to handle the power.

will this fit a 2015 f250 6.2 liter?
Asked by:
warren breisch
- 7/1/2016
The kit can be installed on a Super Duty with some modifications, however, I'm not certain if Whipple has tuning for the 2015-2016 F250s with the 6.2L V8s. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can verify.

What's the difference in the heat exchanger and the dual one?
Asked by:
Richard
- 5/4/2016
The standard heat exchanger included with the supercharger does not come with fans. The Heat Exchanger Upgrade comes with dual electric fans to improve cooling of the supercharger's coolant.

Could I put this on by myself or would I have to get a performance shop to do it? Thank you sir
Asked by:
Richard
- 4/13/2016
That's entirely dependent on your skill level and your access to tools. Book time on the job is roughly 10-12 hours, depending on the options you choose with the supercharger. Installation, overall, is fairly straightforward, though it is a long process with a lot of steps. You'll also need to completely remove your stock intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel injectors, and other components. In general, we recommend a professional installation.

I have the 6.2L motor but, it's not in a Raptor. Mine's in an F150 Harley Davidson Edition crew cab 4x4. I'm interested in boosting hp & torq with the least amount of modifications possible, would this supercharger kit work?
Asked by:
Daniel Mohan
- 9/21/2015
This kit will work for what you're trying to do, though depending on just how much power you're after, you could do a few bolt-ons and tuning to save some cash, though the Whipple system will probably give the most power out of any single other modification we carry for the 6.2L F150s.

Can the SCT custom tunes that yall offer work for this instead of sending my PCM to Whipple?
Asked by:
Johnathan Garcia
- 9/9/2015
Unfortunately, 5-Star can't tune Whipple superchargers at this time. While the kit can be ordered without a tune, you would need to find tuning at a local chassis dyno. Give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433, if you have any further questions.

What is the exact hp output of this kit? Other sites are now rating the whipple s/c at 675hp, is this the same kit?
Asked by:
Frank
- 7/27/2015
Whipple revised their tuning fairly recently to squeeze out more power. The new figures are roughly 675 horsepower. We've updated our listing to reflect the change.

This kit will not fit the 2011-2014 F150 5.0Ls Whipple is currently working on a 2.9L supercharger kit for those trucks that will hopefully be released here in the near future.

Can you get it in lime green?
Asked by:
Dave
- 1/20/2015
Whipple can do custom powder coat colors, however, they require that you purchase the powder coat color on your own, send it in, and then pay an additional $600.00 to actually paint the head unit. Your best bet is to give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433 to arrange your custom color of choice.

can I put this on my stock super duty?
Asked by:
Arby
- 12/20/2014
It can be, but there are some alterations that need to be made to the supercharger kit for a proper install that requires some fab-work and possibly custom tuning. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get more specific. It has been done before, however.

What does this supercharger do to MPG? If you're hammering it, I can imagine it takes the hit but that's what it's there for. But for normal driving does it change the mpg much from stock? Lastly, is there a place in Colorado that will install it? Thanks! TJ
Asked by:
TJ
- 2/20/2014
Due to the extra parasitic drag on the engine, there will be a slight drop in gas mileage that can be anywhere from .5mpg to 2mpg. Honestly, it really depends on driving style and fuel quality as to what your potential losses are going to be. As far as shops, we can probably recommend a shop depending on your exact location. Give us a call at 1-877-578-2433.
