If you're doing any work on the engine of your 2005-2014 Mustang or show it off at car shows, the last thing you want is a bothersome factory stock prop rod getting in your way. Fortunately, our friends at Redline Tuning feel the same way and have designed an efficient and technologically-advanced solution that Ford should have added years ago. Simply start to lift your hood and the QuickLIFT system's progressive gas springs take over. Your hood will lift and hold firmly at the raised position.

Redline's QuickLIFT Hood Struts provide a great way to eliminate that annoying factory hood prop while giving your V6, GT or GT500 Mustang's hood exceptional functionality. Each kit includes a gas spring on the driver and passenger side that lift and hold your stock or aftermarket hood without the need for that poorly placed prop-rod. These hood struts are designed for specific models to ensure no wind or bumping will knock it down on your head while you're working on, or showing off, your engine bay.

We loaded up a set of Redline Tuning QuickLIFT PLUS Hood Struts on our 2008 Shelby GT500 5.4L project car since we have big plans for this convertible. The QuickLIFT PLUS Hood Struts are available in a black powder-coated finish while the ELITE kits feature a stainless steel finish. Both kits provide (2) custom-valved gas spring hood struts that slow down the extending rate, allowing for a fluid lifting process which create a gentle opening and closing of your Mustang's hood.

Each set of hood struts are designed specifically for the type of hood you have, so it's very important to make sure you're matching these up to the correct application. Fiberglass aftermarket hoods are heavier than stock hoods so the wrong struts will fail to operate and hold the weight properly. Each style also comes with different installation hardware as well so, if you're picking up a set of hood struts, do a little research on your type of hood before purchasing.

i have a 2005 mustang gt, i bought a set of struts, but my hood is very heavy due to a ram air IV installed over the hood and the struts were not able to hold the hood in place, where can i find a heavy duty kit to hold my extra-heavyhood? i appreciate the help
