What Super Duty Wheels and Tires Do I need?

Your choice of F250 or F350 wheels and tires depend on a lot of factors. Your first step is to figure out what tire size you're going to run, since your tire size is going to figure in to both the lift you're going to need and the width, offset, and backspacing of the wheel you should be running. For instance, to run a 35x12.50" tire on most Super Duty generally requires at least a 2" leveling kit for the height and wheel with around a 5.50" backspace for the width in order to clear the factory radius arms. If you're not sure what tires you want to run, then you're in a bit of a pickle. Are F250 and F350 Wheels the Same?

Yes...for the most part. In general, you can use the same wheels on an F250 as you can on an F350 with a single-wheel rear axle. The wheels for and F250 use the same bolt pattern, offsets, and backspacing as the F350s with a standard SRW rear axle. As an example, check out our 2014 F250 6.7L Project Truck and compare it to our 2011 F350 6.7L Project Truck, and you'll probably notice that there's really not much difference in wheel sizing or fitments between the two. Things get a little trickier when it comes to Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) rear axle F350s. DRW axle trucks have vastly different wheels than SRWs. On some Super Duty model years, the bolt patterns are entirely different and both the front and rear wheels have extremely different offsets and backspacings. Not to mention, the DRW trucks have a total of SIX wheels with an extra pair of inner "blanks" inside the outer wheels. What tires should I choose for my Super Duty?

Without getting into sizing (which has way too many factors to succinctly list), the TYPE of tires you should choose depends on what you're doing with your truck and what kind of ride quality and what kind of off-road terrain you want to tackle, because you generally can't have a tire that rides nice on the road and one that can rip out of thick mud and snow. In general, if you're predominantly on the street and only go out on fairly well-maintained forest roads, then a set of Super Duty All-Terrain tires like the Nitto Terra Grapplers, Toyo A/T IIIs, BFG KO2s, and others are a good choice. If you're not worried at all about road noise and want to tackle tough trails or go out mud-bogging, then a Mud-Terrain Tire like the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T, Falken Wildpeak M/T, Toyo Open Country M/T, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T, or others are a great bet. For something that has a decent street ride that still holds its own for most off-roading and overlanding, hybrid tires like the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Toyo Open Country R/T, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T, and others can really help you out.
