Principle Benefits of an Aftermarket EcoBoost Intercooler

The stock intercooler of your 2011 to 2014 F150 EcoBoost can actually handle a decent amount of power and torque, but it is very prone to heat-soak in hot climates, during towing, going up inclines, horsing around off-road, or doing much of anything that involves keeping the RPM range up without going very fast or gaining speed. The other key weakness of the of the factory intercooler is, of course, it's infamous condensation problem. While an EcoBoost catch can (like the driver's side and passenger's side kits from UPR) is probably a more cost-effective way of mitigating or eliminating the problem, nearly all of our aftermarket intercoolers keep condensation in check so that your EcoBoost F150's performance doesn't overly suffer.

The ATP, Wagner, and aFe Intercoolers all feature easy, drop-in installations in the factory location and are compatible with aFe's Bladerunner Charge Pipe. The Full-Race Intercooler has a little more of a complex install than the others, but it does bring the intercooler's position farther up into the upper grille in front of the radiator so that you can mount either a winch or light bar in your F150's lower grill opening.
