2019-2023 Ford Ranger Exhausts: Fix the Sound!

The stock exhaust system of the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger sounds decent, but those of us wanting a more throaty roar will want to replace the exhaust with something more aggressive. Those looking for quieter sound will also want to make a change. Sound aside, you can also expect an improved appearance and performance upgrades from this modification. Spice things up with a exhaust tip and Single-Exit Cat-Back Exhaust System or Dual-Exit Cat-Back Exhaust System.

The addition of a single-exit cat-back exhaust, dual-exit cat-back exhaust, downpipe and exhaust tip are nice additions to the Ranger. Both the single-exit and dual-exit exhaust kits come in different packages that offer horsepower and torque improvements as well as mellow or aggressive sounds. For an almost OEM look, you can opt for a single exit exhaust kit while the dual-exit kit adds a unique twin-tailpipe design. Aftermarket downpipes use larger tubing so it is less restrictive and doesn't choke the truck with back pressure, like stock components. A new exhaust tip looks better than a bare exhaust pipe or a plain tip that another exhaust system uses.

2019-2023 Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost Magnaflow Overland Series Cat-Back Kit

If you're planning on putting together an overland Ranger build, then you should grab a cat-back with "overland" right in the title. The Magnaflow Overland Series Cat-Back Kit for 2019-2023 Rangers features a high-clearance, single-exit design that tucks on the passenger's side rear bumper and stays several inches higher than the factory exhaust tip, helping to improve your Ranger's departure angle and giving you some extra clearance. The Magnaflow Overland Series Kit is a complete cat-back system made out of 409 stainless steel that's fitted with a new muffler and one of Magnaflow's NDT resonators that help keep drone and rasp minimal, even when you're slowly crawling along at fairly high RPMs. The Magnaflow Overland Series Kit is extremely easy to install and comes backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

2019-2023 Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost MBRP 3" Turn-Down Cat-Back Kit

If you're looking for maximum clearance, a great price, and a pretty aggressive sound, then a pre-axle dump system may be right up your alley. The MBRP 3" Turn-Down Cat-Back Kit for 2019-2023 Rangers is a budget-friendly, if a bit aggressive, way to get some extra rear clearance and better departure angles than stock. The MBRP Turn-Down Kit features a dumped exit and short design that ends before the rear axle. While this does give you clearance for both off-road use and potentially fitting a bigger spare tire, this kit does have a pretty aggressive exhaust note, and with the exit just barely being behind the cab and a lot of sound being reflected by the ground, you can expect some amount of drone. The aluminized steel construction is also not super-ideal for areas that use salt in the winter. Still, the MBRP Turn-Down system is a solid choice for maximizing rear clearance and adding a great sound.

2019-2023 Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost SPD Dual Over-Axle Dump Cat-Back Kit

The only thing better than getting extra clearance for off-road adventures is when it comes backed with some serious quality. The SPD Performance Dual Over-Axle Dump Cat-Back Kit for 2019-2023 Rangers features a pair of dumped tubes that exit just behind the rear axle that provide excellent clearance and improved departure angles, along with slightly more clearance for bigger spare tires. The SPD Dual Dump Kit is also made out of 304 stainless steel that's resistant to corrosion and discoloration in practically any climate or application. The kit features a fairly large muffler that still makes for an aggressive sound over stock, but nothing that's overbearing. Since the tubes dump over the axle and after the cab, this kit has less drone than MBRP's kit, but at least some drone should be expected.
