Why We're More Careful with 3.5L EcoBoost (and PowerBoost)
The 3.5L EcoBoost and the 3.5L PowerBoost are where 2026 gets nuanced. Ford made calibration and emissions-related adjustments that may affect how certain exhaust components, especially those forward of the cat-back, interface with the truck.
Cat-back-only systems are likely fine because they sit behind the catalytic converter and don't interact with emissions hardware. But some 3.5L exhausts also touch downpipes or mid-pipes that DO interact with sensors and cats, and those are the parts we're holding back on until manufacturers finalize their 2026 validation.
If you're on a 2026 3.5L and want exhaust now, look at cat-back-only systems and skip downpipe-included kits until late this year. The sound and weight savings of the cat-back alone are still meaningful. Forward-of-cat parts will come, just a few months later.
Bed Accessories: The Safest Upgrade Category Period
If you're looking to add functionality to your truck bed, you're in the easiest category to shop for 2026. Ford left the bed entirely alone.
Tonneau Covers
Bed dimensions, mounting rails, and stake-pocket positions are unchanged for the 2026 F150. Short beds and long beds are exactly the same size as previous years. That means:
