Install was an all afternoon deal considering it was my first time installing new coilovers. However I was given the necessary instructions and hardware out of the box to do this with a friend with relative ease. Only professional help that was necessary was alignment obviously. As far as performance gains these things RIP at high speeds on moderately whooped out trails and greatly reduces body roll on the corners. As always Stage 3 killed it on shipping with no problems.

These king shocks are packaged very well. Install was easy only takes about 45 min a side if you've swapped struts in these trucks before. The ride performance is extremely well, I only had one issue with the kit. The hose leading to the remote reservoir is a bit short for where the instructions say to mount it. The hose ended up rubbing on brackets on passenger and driver side, I had to move the reservoir back to a different location so the hose wasn't stretched, other than that one small issue these struts are well worth the money!

Ordering and Shipping was excellent. Received them in 2 days. As far as the ride goes, it is much more firm over stock with on road driving. Haven’t been able to test off road yet but on road is much firmer than I expected. All in all I do like them. They make me feel much more confident in my setup now.

Customer Question I've seen the answers where it says they come at 2.75 in of level can they be adjusted down to 2 inch or are they at minimum?

Asked by: Robert - 8/7/2025
Customer Answer Yes, King coilovers are height adjustable and can be adjusted with a 2.5 spanner wrench.

Customer Question If I were to swap the front end with stock raptor parts would these coilovers fit?

Asked by: Grant - 7/24/2022
Customer Answer If you swap over Raptor UCAS, LCAs, axles, and tie rods, these coilovers will not fit. For a Raptor swap application, you would need Raptor-specific parts here.

Customer Question Am I able to also use a leveling kit with these?

Asked by: Sid - 7/22/2019
Customer Answer You technically could. However, we don't recommend it. These coilovers come out of the box set at roughly 2.5" to 2.75" of leveling, and any leveling kit you add on top of that would push your front ride height to the point where you'd have serious issues with suspension geometry. Your better bet would be to use the coilovers as standalone parts.

Customer Question If I were to set the coil overs at around 3 1/4 to max lift height, is there any drop bracket that I would need for the front differential so the cv axles won’t have all the stress?

Asked by: Tyler - 4/1/2019
Customer Answer There are no drop brackets or spindles that only go to a 3" height. You're only real option would be to use a 4" suspension lift kit and then set the coilovers at their max 3.5" ride height. However, that would put a lot of preload on the spring and you would likely get questionable on-road ride quality. Your much better bet would be to use the Fox 2.5s for 4-6" Lifts in conjunction with whatever 4" lift kit you have in mind.

Customer Question Where do the remote reservoirs mount at? I have seen pictures of these being mounted above the coilover of a bracket, is this where these brackets are meant to be mounted?

Asked by: Will - 2/22/2019
Customer Answer The brackets mount forward on the frame in front of the coilover, and the hose routes through the top of the mounting bucket and snakes over to it.

Customer Question With the BDS uppercontrol arms will these coil overs fit with no rubbing? The BDS kit says it’s designed for the fox coilovers but I’d much rather have the king coils.

Asked by: Josh - 10/1/2018
Customer Answer As long as you keep the coilovers under 3" of ride height, you should not have spring contact issues or other rubbing problems with the BDS UCAs. Just make sure your wheel and tire combinations meets the BDS UCA's backspacing and wheel width requirements.

Customer Question I have a 2009 f150 fx4 with 4 inch lift if i want these king coilovers do i have to special order them for a 4 inch lift or since i already have a lift i can order stock and crank them up as needed?

Asked by: Alex - 9/13/2017
Customer Answer In theory, you could just install these coilovers and re-use your lift kit's strut spacer and then set the coilovers to your desired ride height. Granted, we wouldn't recommend going beyond 2" over stock in that application. Alternatively, according to Kind, these coilovers are capable of 3.5" of front lift, so if you max out their height you could use them with your 4" lift, and just be at a slightly shorter ride height up front. If you are looking for a full-length coilover option for your 4" lift, then King would have to custom make them, or you could use the 2014-2017 F150 BDS Fox 2.5 Coilovers for 4" Lift Kits and swap out the bar-pin mount for the correct clevis or use 2014 F150 LCAs.

Customer Question while these work with stock 22 limited wheels?

Asked by: cole - 6/18/2017
Customer Answer The coilovers and reservoirs will fit fine with the stock 22" Limited Wheels, though you will likely be limited on how wide you can go with your tires in order to clear the reservoirs.

Customer Question I already have a 6" rough country lift on my truck. If I install these in the front it would bring the front up to a 9" lift wouldn't it ?

Asked by: Lee - 5/17/2017
Customer Answer In theory, yes, using these coilovers with your lift kit will get you extra ride height, however, going a full 9" will likely overly stretch your brake lines, throw your suspension geometry way out of whack, and likely pull your driveshaft too far out of its yoke. If you're going to add these coilovers to a lift, we strongly recommend starting their ride height out at a 0" stock height and work them up, while being careful to pay attention to your suspension geometry, driveshaft, and brake lines.

Customer Question To add onto the question about the 17" Method NV with 35x12.50x17. The backspacing is 4.75" and the offset is 0. Would this work?

Asked by: Vincent L. - 9/23/2016
Customer Answer That combination of wheels and tires should clear without problems, since your backspacing is less than 5".

Customer Question I have 2013 f150 Xlt regular cab, and I'm planning to put 17x8.5 method wheels with general grabber 35x12.5x17, will the king shocks gonna let me fit them in? If not, what should I go with?

Asked by: OJ - 5/18/2016
Customer Answer That's going to depend entirely on the offset and backspacing of those wheels. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get more specific with what you have.

Customer Question I have a 6"BDS lift with a 3" leveling kit could I also add these Coilovers on top of all that and if so that could clear me at about 12" in lift?

Asked by: Ty - 4/7/2016
Customer Answer Absolutely not. The rest of your suspension components would not be able to handle. Your UCAs, LCAs, CVs, and tie rods are probably already pushed to the limit as-is, and we STRONGLY recommend that you don't add additional lift to your truck.

Customer Question Can I use these with a 4inch rancho lift?

Asked by: Hunter - 2/16/2016
Customer Answer If and only if you use them in conjunction with the Rancho lift's strut spacers, and if you lower the coilovers to 0" stock ride height height beforehand. The coilovers aren't long enough to be used in a standalone application.

Customer Question Can I set these to 2.5 inches of lift to level my truck?

Asked by: Paul - 1/21/2016
Customer Answer You can. However, the coilovers come out of the box set at about 2-3/4" of ride height, so you may have to adjust them with a suitable coilover spanner wrench to get the stance you want.

Customer Question In the description, it states that this can be adjusted up to 3.5 inches. How would I go about doing that? Is a spanner wrench included? How level would my 2010 fit at 3.5 inches? What kind of rubbng/trimming can I expect with 22x14 American Force Burnouts -73mm offset 5 inch backspacing wrapped in a 33x12.50r22 Atturo Trail blade M/T?

Asked by: Chip - 10/14/2015
Customer Answer A King Coilover Spanner Wrench would be required or some kind of fabricated tool. 3.5" would actually take you way beyond leveled. To get a dead-level look, you'd only need to set the coilovers at around 2.5". Anything above that will result in rear rake. Frankly, we don't recommend going beyond 3" due to how much your UCA, LCA, and CV angles get thrown off. As far as rubbing and trimming go, it's kind of tough to say with 22x14" wheels, and some trimming of the lower valance may be required to prevent rub.

Customer Question I added a 2.5 level spacer To my 2013 f150 fx4 plus 2014 raptor special edition wheel and tire take offs (34.5"). I wnt a good ride like I have now with enhanced performance. Would these be stiff? I am adding a 3" block to rear and would like a good option for a good riding performance shock there as well.

Asked by: Mlawdawg - 9/4/2015
Customer Answer We haven't personally tried King's coilovers on any of our trucks, but given that they're 2.5" coilovers and valved for performance, they are likely to stiffen up your ride to at least some degree.

Customer Question What's the minimum and maximum backspacing I can have with 18x9 rim size to safely clear these coilovers? Along with upgrades like a new UCA ?

Asked by: TwY - 8/2/2015
Customer Answer It kind of depends on what tires you're going to go with, though in general, you're going to be able to a maximum of a 5.50" backspace with these coilovers and a set of UCAs, though you'll be limited on what tires you can run if you want to clear the reservoirs and the uniball cup. In general, keeping your backspace around 5.00" by going with a 9" wide wheel with a 01mm offset would probably be more ideal and open up more tire options, though any backspace less than 5.50" should work.
