This kit was the right way to go for me. I was trying to decide between bags or bumpstops. Glad I chose the bags. They were easy to install, I did mine on a lift in my shop and left the wheels on. The entire kit is very well made. The instructions are ok, look up some videos instead. There are two locations that the top bracket above the bag can be installed. At first I was in the bottom set like everyone else did, this was too much rake and made it more difficult to get my ProPride3P hitch to distribute trailer tongue weight because the back of the truck was so high with only 10psi. So I moved to the top set of holes and everything came out great. Ride height is pretty much stock using the upper bolt holes, perfect for everyday use, no harsh ride at all, and with only 15psi (unloaded) I can hitch my trailer and everything levels out perfect. I can run 15psi all the time, with and without my trailer. Stage 3 has always been good to work with as well.

Good kit. I use these bags for towing a snowmobile trailer and boats and it works well. However, the instructions are misleading with regards to the airbag spacer. The instructions will tell you to install the airbag spacer if you have a leveling kit or a lift kit when it is not needed unless you have changed the stock spacing between the frame and the leaf springs. Otherwise it is a standard airbag kit made of good quality parts. I like that this kit mounts the airbags directly over the leaf spring U-bolts and not in front of the U-bolts like some other kits.

Over all I'm happy with my purchase. These guys at Stage 3 Motorsports are on it. I will not hesitate to reorder from them. The product does as advertised, easy to install, and works well. However, it did make the truck ride a little stiffer in the rear with the minimum air pressure required and they squeak some. I have not investigated the squeaking to understand the cause but will work on it.

2015 Ford F-150 super crew 4x4. Install took maybe 3 hours tops. That was in my garage, with zero power tools, and truck on the ground, no lift. Only removed spare tire. Would have been a lot more easy with the tires removed to work from the outside to guide the bolts and the nut plate inside the frame. Product seems to be great and fits great.

I installed this kit to help stabilize the rear end of my truck when towing a 7,000lb travel trailer. It definitely adds a lot of vertical support and reduces sag. I would say there is no getting around feeling the bumps and jolts of a trailer with a 1/2 ton pickup. As for doing what the product says it will do, it does. It’s just not going to turn your f150 into a f250. It’s also easy to install with the right tools. Be sure to reset your weight distribution on your trailer after you pump up the bags to your desired pressure. Otherwise you make the sway control ineffective.

It's been a month since I installed the air bags and they have held up great so far. These bags are of a good quality and installing them wasn't hard at all. I recommend you buy the AIR LIFT controller kit, it makes filling the bags much easier, can be done inside the truck. I have a 5th wheel and these bags makes it so much easier to tow my RV and now I tow with the truck level which helps my suspension. Would I recommend these bags, most definitely, the price is right and they even have a video showing you how to install. Thanks

I received the kit very quickly and had installed it within a few hours. I am glad I watched a video on the installation as the written instructions are somewhat confusing. The kit works great with the minimum air pressure of 5 psi I noticed that the back end of my truck was raised 1" in height. I lowered my ball height 1" prior to hooking onto my TT with the WDH. After hooking up the WDH and installing the spring bars all I needed to get my pickup to the proper ride height was 25 psi in both air bags, my TT pulled great.

Installation wasn't bad on these. A person can definately do it themselves. Ride quality is good but you can really only tell when you have a load on the truck. One thing I do not like was the shrader valves. They are junk. When I went to fill up the bags, the shader valves kept getting stuck open so I would lose all my air instantly. So i went out and bought new ones. So far I haven't had a problem. Overall, I can't complain about them. They do their job.

Product seems to be of good quality. Very easy to install, and the instructional video on the project page was very helpful. I discovered, however, that if you plan to use a fifth wheel rail system, you’ll have to purchase a universal set, because the ones designed specifically for my F150 use a bracket that runs along the outside of the frame, where the upper air suspension bracket attaches. Not a big issue for me, though.

Bought these bags to assist with squatting when I pull my tandem axle trailer. It ain’t no 5th wheel but these bags helped a lot with the squat since I have a lift. I installed this kit on the ground with the rear wheels still in place. You don’t need lift or anything fancy. I noticed it came with a plastic L - bracket to mount the air line fill valves to. In my opinion that is kinda lame... zip Tying your fill valves some where. Take the time. Route your lines neat back to the license plate. Remove Your license plate screws. Drill them out. And install your fill valves where your existing license plate bolts were. Simple. No crawling under to reach your valves. Hook up your trailer. Your valves are right In front of you. Looks clean. Very efficient. Over all great kit.

I have a leveled 2019 F150 with Bilstein 5100s front and back, 34" BFG tires. I also have the Hellwig rear swaybar. The install was pretty straight forward. The frame brackets took a bit of tetris to get the screws to line up with the internal frame brackets. I noticed a huge improvement in how the truck tows and handles a load in the bed. The trucks doesn't feel mushy with the weight and the bags also added lateral stability. One comment and word of caution is the bags did considerably stiffen up my ride when i am not loaded. Even with only 5psig in the bags i can still feel the leaf springs compressing the air bags which has a bouncy feeling (definitely not as plush as the truck was). I did add the daystar airbag cradles. I would highly recommend these as they allow for more articulation and help with the bouncy feeling. I have also been running 250lbs of sand in my bed and that helps smooth the ride.

Install is not bad at all. Quality parts. I pull a 28 foot camper and bags are a must have. Completely eliminated squat. Unloaded with 5psi in the bags the ride is close to stock, just a tad stiffer in the rear. I really notice it on speed bumps, but it’s not bad at all. Very pleased. The brackets come with 2 sets of mounting holes, I would recommend using the top set to keep the bags from being so compressed and make the ride better.

The kit was fairly easy to install after I had to make a run to Home Depot to get bolts and nuts that were missing from the kit. I called Firestone Technical Support and they told me that they were just Grade 5 Bolts and I can go get them at a hardware store. I am disappointed that the kit was missing items, which is not Stage 3 Motorsports fault, it is Firestone's issue. I have not used the air bags as yet as we are in snow country and will not be towing till spring time, but the ride of the truck with the air bags inflated to the minimum of 10 psi is great, no noticeable difference. I am looking forward to towing our boat and horse trailer with the help of the air bags in the spring time.

The shipping speed by Stage 3 was amazing, but the instructions provided by Firestone are less than stellar. First, you have to be sure that you mount the air spring in the most forward holes on the upper bracket. Doing so will keep the alignment vertical. I had numbers my upper brackets: 5806 was for the drivers side, 3806 for the passenger. Again, mounting the spring into the most forward facing holes. Secondly, make sure to dry fit the lower bracket onto your leaf spring because there is a left and right side, but again they are not marked. I had them switched initially. I did this install in about a half a day in my garage without a jack or lift. It's possible, but it created a lot of extra work for me. . Installation would go a lot faster if the tire was removed and the truck jacked up. One installed though, the air springs function as advertised.

i believe these will work fine, this is my 4th set on various vehicles. I got some chassis paint from harbor freight, which matches the stock frame paint better, i also used some 1/4 wire loom matierial to protect the air lines, looks nicer too. I also used the spacer and mounted the upper bracket in the upper holes. it seemed to match the height of the bag better. I will say , i prefer the hose that came in older kits, due to it being less stiff and easier to work with. All in all, im happy with it.

Customer Question I have 2016 F150 4wd 3.5 ecoboost w/max tow package, 10k gvrw & 275/70 R18 LT Kevlar Tires. My old springs are done, Ive got new leaf springs on order, 5 leaf 2500lb to replace my current 5 spring packs. Looking at getting the 2015-2020 F150 4WD Bilstein 6112 Stage 2 Suspension Package BIL6112S2. In addition I would like to get airbags and am looking at Firestone Ride-Rite Rear Air Spring Kit 2582, will this require a spacer and which one do I get if so? Or would the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Load-Leveling Kit 88385 w/2" spacer kit be better?

Asked by: DocRose - 7/18/2024
Customer Answer This really depends on if the replacement leaf pack you are installing adds any ride height. If the pack add 1.5" of ride height or more, than you need to also run an air spring spacer to account for the gap you will have due to the higher lifting springs. If the leaf pack does not change your rear ride height, than you don't need to run a spacer.

Customer Question How will you fill the air bags does it need a compressor

Asked by: David - 9/2/2021
Customer Answer A compressor is not strictly required for inflating the air springs, though having an on-board air compressor will make you life a bit easier. The kit comes with air lines that can be routed out the rear of your truck and allow you to fill them manually with an external air compressor. Mounting those lines in the rear bumper will require some drilling, however.

Customer Question Will this kit work on a ‘16 f150 with Deaver L84 leaf springs mounted over axle?

Asked by: Matt - 8/12/2021
Customer Answer Unfortunately, we can't guarantee it. Since the Deavers come with more leafs for an overall thicker leaf pack, the included U-bolts may not be long enough. Also, since the Deaver springs are capable of more travel than stock, you'd be defeating a lot of purpose for having them installed and/or you could over-extend the air springs and cause them damage.

Customer Question The video says you used the spacer since you had a leveling kit on the truck. I also have a leveling kit but that only changes the front suspension. Am I missing something? And should I use the spacer?

Asked by: James - 7/25/2020
Customer Answer If you any sort of rear lift, you would potentially need to use the spacer. If you solely have a front leveling kit, then you may not need to. Some of it depends on the size of the stock rear block, since some trucks come stock with a 1.25" rear block, and some could come with 1.50" rear block.

Customer Question I have a 2017 f150 with a 6inch vertex rough country life .. will these air bags be compatible with it?

Asked by: Aaron - 6/1/2020
Customer Answer Rough Country's rear blocks are a little odd in that they have two sets of U-bolts, which could potentially be an issue for these Air Springs. At the very worst, you'd just have to modify the leaf spring bracket or remove the two smaller leaf spring U-bolts from the blocks.

Customer Question I have a 2016 F-150 Super Crew with a 6 inch rough country lift. The rear axle blocks are an anti wrap design, so the block is longer where it contacts the leaf springs and has two additional U bolts, one front and one rear. Will the lower air bag perch fit with this style block? If not, what would you recommend using?

Asked by: gsfordracing - 5/29/2020
Customer Answer You can likely get this kit to work with Rough Country's kit. At the very worst, you'd have to modify the leaf spring brackets slightly or remove the smaller leaf spring U-bolts from the Rough Country blocks. Unfortunately, most other Air Spring Kits will likely have more pressing issues with Rough Country's rear blocks.

Customer Question I have a 2017 F150 4x4 with a hidden gooseneck hitch installed. Is there a Firestone air bag kit that will work with my set up ?

Asked by: Joe - 4/29/2020
Customer Answer That depends on the specific gooseneck. Depending on the brand and part number of gooseneck, some of the mounting hardware can interfere with the mounting hardware for the Ride-Rite kit. Some also will not. Your best bet would be to give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your gooseneck setup.

Customer Question Will these fit without modifications on a 2019 screw 5.5’ model? I have a level kit in front and when I added a ‘glass topper I have a slight sag; will only get worse when I add the boat and/or load the bed.

Asked by: Yeti SuperCrew - 3/4/2020
Customer Answer This Air Spring Kit will fit a 2019 F150 SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed truck without issues. The kit fits all 2015-2020 F150s, regardless of cab/bed configuration.

Customer Question Will these air bags fit with the husky liner wheel wells?

Asked by: Ritter - 1/25/2020
Customer Answer Unfortunately, they will not due to how the brackets and air springs install on the frame.

Customer Question Is each bag filled with air separately, or is there one fill valve and the air is spread equally between the two air bags?

Asked by: Midsotaman - 11/4/2019
Customer Answer The springs each come with their own air line, which allows you to potentially fill them to different pressures either manually or via a dual-port compressor system.

Customer Question Will it work for a 2016 F150 4" lift or 6" lift??

Asked by: Joe - 8/16/2019
Customer Answer The Ride-Rite Kit should work with most aftermarket 4" or 6" lift kits, as long as they keep the factory leaf springs. The Ride-Rite installs between the axle and the leaf pack, which means it's not effected by either larger rear blocks or add-a-leaf kits included with most lift kits.

Customer Question Do these bags tee together so you only run one shrader valve or do you have to run each bags air line separately?

Asked by: Justin B. - 8/4/2019
Customer Answer Not out of the box. These springs come standard with independent lines in case you want to run different pressures for uneven loads. The line included is fairly basic, so there's not really a reason why you couldn't add your own T-fitting and valve.

Customer Question Will these work well with the rear fox shocks in your '2014-2019 F150 4WD FOX Stage 1 Suspension Package'? If not, what aftermarket rear shocks would you recommend to go along with these air springs?

Asked by: ClaymoreJR - 6/22/2019
Customer Answer Fox's 2.0s will work just fine with this kit. Really, your choice of rear shocks is going to depend on how you're using your truck, how much off-roading you're doing (and how aggressive), and your budget. Almost any aftermarket rear shock will work fine with this air spring kit.

Customer Question when not towing or hauling can the bags have 0psi in them, or do they always need some air?

Asked by: cody - 5/21/2019
Customer Answer This kit needs to have a minimum of 5psi of air pressure at all times, and can't be run at 0psi.

Customer Question Will this kit work on a 2017 4wd with 2” lowering shackles in the rear

Asked by: Aaron - 3/18/2019
Customer Answer They likely will not fit or function properly on a truck with lowering shackles, due to both how the brackets mount up to the truck and the length of the air springs. Unfortunately, I don't know of any options that would work on a 2" lowered truck, as Air Lift does not currently have one of their Slam Air systems available for the 2015-2019 F150s.

Customer Question Will this work with a b&w gooseneck hitch it looks as though the bracketry goes in almost the same spot so im going to assume it wont work.

Asked by: Jacob - 3/7/2019
Customer Answer The general answer is "no" though it does depend on the specific model of hitch and where its mounting hardware actually installs onto the truck. Unfortunately, Firestone does not currently have a version of this kit that's specifically for goosenecks/in-bed hitches as of yet.

Customer Question Will this kit make my 2015 f150 4x4 ride rougher or stiffen the ride?... due to the bags maintaining some residual pressure?

Asked by: Zach - 1/19/2019
Customer Answer This kit does tend to add some amount of rear-end stiffness, though the Firestone Kits tend to be less stiff than Air Lift's.

Customer Question How will these effect rear suspension travel? My concern is over expanding the bag off-road and damaging it. Would the Firestone or airlift offer any advantage in regards to travel?

Asked by: Preston F - 11/19/2018
Customer Answer These air springs (and any other air spring) will negatively effect your travel or be at a risk of tearing during violent articulation. Depending on what you're towing or hauling, you may want to look into the Timbren SES system.

Customer Question Yo! I've got a '15 EB Screw with 7" ReadyLIFT + 37s. Would like to get rid of rear droop and plan ahead for towing/hauling in the future. Your video says the pack comes with a spacer to use if truck is lifted. Will this spacer suffice to be run on my 7" lift kit?

Asked by: Chris - 10/7/2018
Customer Answer This kit does not require a spacer if the factory leaf pack is reused (which it is in the ReadyLift 7" Lift Kit). Due to the Firestone Kit installing between the frame and the leaf pack (instead of the frame and axle like Air Lift's Kits), the FIrestone Ride-Rite System should install on a truck with a ReadyLift kit without issues.

Customer Question Will these work with a 3" rear block on my 2017 F150 XLT Sport 4x4? I want to lift the rear with the block so the tailgate clears my trailer when lowered, and I want to use the airbags to reduce rear squat with the trailer hitched up. If there is a 3 inch block that is compatible please let me know, I see some of the blocks have built in bump stops whereas some do not. Thanks.

Asked by: Kevin - 4/17/2018
Customer Answer The Ride Rite Kit will work with a 3" rear block. The Air Springs install between the frame and leaf springs and aren't effected by larger rear blocks.

Customer Question Will this work on my 2017 F150 4x4? Same question with the Bilstein 5100 leveling shock kit? What compressor configuration do you recommend?

Asked by: Brian - 8/29/2017
Customer Answer According to Firestone, this kit will work on 2017 F150s with 4WD. The Bilstein 2015-2017 F150 Shock and Strut Package also fits 2017 F150s with 4WD. What on-board air compressor you choose will depend on your budget and whether you want to use it to run tire inflators or air tools. Customer Question I have Rancho QuickLifts and Autospring Add-A-Leaf's currently installed on my truck. I frequently tow/haul and am experiencing a lot of squat. Would it be possible to add this kit in conjunction with the Add-A-Leaf or would it have to be removed? I would prefer not to remove the Add-A-Leaf's as I like the added height.

Asked by: Matt - 8/24/2017
Customer Answer You likely won't be able to use the Firestone System with your add-a-leaf kit, due to the fact that it installs between the leaf pack and the frame, and the U-bolts that hold it to the leaf springs are likely not long enough to handle an additional leaf spring. That being said, all you would really need to do is hunt down longer U-bolts. Alternatively, you could use AirLift's Load Lifter Kit instead, since it installs on a bracket attached to the axle, though you may also need Air Lift's Lock-n-Lift Spacers depending on how much you end up stretching the air springs with the Add-a-Leaf Kit installed.

Customer Question WILL THIS KIT WORK ON A 2015 F150 CREW CAB WITH A 3/5 LOWERING KIT?

Asked by: JUSTAGUY - 8/2/2017
Customer Answer This kit will not work on a vehicle with an axle-flip setup in the rear, since the air springs install between the leaf pack and the frame under the bed. Unfortunately, Firestone does not have a kt specifically for lowered vehicles, and Air Lift does not currently have one of their Slam Air® systems for the 2015-2017 F150s as of yet.
