I had 0 problem with the product. It came really fast good condition, package very well. The installation was pretty easy. You have to get your own but conectors they do not come in the kit and the instructions are not for specific vehicle they are generic. But with a test light it is pretty simple to find out which lights you need to splice into. Popping them in were easy and they fit as good as the stock head lights and they are alot brighter than the stock ones too

Customer Question Can I use my aftermarket hid bulbs for this unit?

Customer Answer These headlights use an H7 bulb for the low beams and H1 bulb for the high beams, so you would need an H7 and/or H1 HID conversion kit for these headlights. If you have an HID kit for your truck's stock H13 bulbs, then it will not work with these headlights.

Customer Question Upgrading to these from stock reflector buckets, would the output be better or worse? Have been burned from horrible output from aftermarket lights in the past, just wanted to be sure before dumping the cash. Thanks!

Customer Answer Output is "different", and really comes down to expectations. The stock reflectors scatter light everywhere, which gives them impression of more output than they're really making. The projectors on the Recons produce a much tighter beam with a distinct cutoff, so while you have less area lighting near your truck, you should be getting longer range and crisper light between the road and the cutoff.

Customer Answer It does not. The wiring for powering the halos and LED strip is just bare leads.

Customer Question I have a 2012 FX4 without the projector style headlights. Do these need additional wiring to have the halos and led lights function? Or do they plug right in out of the box?

Customer Answer The halos and strip do minor wiring, namely tapping into your parking light wiring for operation.

Customer Answer Unfortunately, the LEDs are no longer replaceable and are built into a single board, and the CCFLs powering the halos are not a separate unit. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can check if you qualify for a warranty replacement.

Customer Answer That's really going to depend on the HID conversion kit being used at that point, but the headlights out of the box are compatible with F150 auto headlights.

Customer Answer The headlights will work on DRL and non-DRL F150s. Brightness of both the LEDs and the headlight bulbs aren't effected.

Customer Question Will these lights be suitable for using in the UK? I.E.driving on opposite of road. 2014 Ford Raptor SVT

Customer Answer There wouldn't be an issue as far as driving on the left, however, it's a good idea to check and see if these lights violate any UK regulations. While they're DOT-approved here in the United States, I'm not sure where that puts them as far as road-legality goes in the UK.

Customer Answer They are DOT approved, and returning the headlights back to stock isn't overly difficult. However, I would recommend using quick-taps for the LED halo and strip wiring, instead of soldering or some other splicing method.

Customer Question The lower led's look purplish on the white project truck. Are they not 6000k or is this just the way the picture caught the light? If they are not 6000k...what color are they and can they be changed to 6000k?

Customer Answer It's just they way the camera picked up their light. While they aren't purple, they do have a blue hue which puts them at roughly a 7500K or 8000K color temperature. Unfortunately, there's not a way to swap them out.

Customer Question The LEDs below the Halos look purplish...is that the case? I prefer all my lighting to be 6000K. Can you please comment on the color of the LEDs?

Customer Answer They're not really purple. The camera's not great at picking up their real color. They do have a blue hue which is closer to an 8000K color, however.

Customer Answer Recon does not currently build replacements in different colors. However, the bulbs in the strip can be replaced fairly easily, if one does happen to go out.

Customer Question If I want to use HIDs with these on my 2011 raptor I will need to order 4 H1s? Is the bulb fitment the same on both low beam projectors and high beam reflectors?

Customer Answer To some extent, it does depend on what HID kit you plan on using, but in general you need two H1 HID conversion kits (which should come with two H1 bulbs, ballasts, and wiring a piece) in order to get HIDs running in both the low-beam projector and high-beam reflector on each light. The bulb fitment is the same, and the headlights should be capable of accepting most H1 HID conversion kits.

Customer Question If my Rators has just the stock light in it. Will these just plug and play or is there wiring. to change? How do I figure out what is in the truck now? I ask this because the truck got damaged in the front and I want to buy these to have body shop put in. They will not want to rewire

Customer Answer Even if you do have factory halogen reflectors, there is still some amount of wiring required for tying the LEDs into a 12V source of your choosing. If you want something that's more plug-and-play, give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433 so that we can go over your options.

Customer Answer You absolutely could, you'd just need to get the appropriate HID kit for the pre-installed bulbs which are H1s. However, you can also order these headlights with a Recon HID kit pre-installed if you call us directly at 1-877-578-2433.

Customer Answer These lights come with new halogen bulbs and are designed to replace the standard halogen reflector headlights of 2009-2014 F150s. You can, however, run HIDs in these lights, but you'd need H1-style HID kits. If your truck has the factory optional projector headlights and HIDs, you'll need to grab Recon's 2013-2014 Projector Headlights.

Customer Answer DRLs are a function of the truck, not the headlight itself. If your F150 has DRLs, then the headlight's low beams will stay on just like the factory headlights.

Customer Answer These headlights use H1s for both the high beams and low beams. I'm not sure about wattage, but I'm pretty certain that the bulbs are fairly basic OE-replacements.
