Excellent General-Purpose Handling and Performance Upgrade for 4" Lifted F150s

Adding a 4" lift kit to your 2004-2020 F150 can give your truck a huge ride height and the clearance for big tires, but many basic 4" lift kits come with "ho-hum" rear shocks that don't do much to improve your F150's ride. Bilstein's B8 5100 Series Rear Shock provides a huge improvement in rear ride quality and performance over standard hydraulic shocks found with most 4" lift kits, and are a perfect choice for any 4" lifted F150 that's looking for an all-around improvement in ride quality and performance without breaking the bank. The Bilstein 5100 shocks drop right into place of your lift kit's standard shocks without modifications, making them a hassle-free upgrade.

Monotube Gas-Charged Design with Self-Adjusting Valving

The 5100 rear shock was carefully designed to provide excellent handling and rear suspension improvements to your lifted F150, all while maintaining excellent ride quality. Each 5100 rear shock features a gas-charged monotube design with a 46mm piston that provides excellent rebound and compression for practically any application. The shock uses self-adjusting deflective disc valving to help generate a smooth and clean ride on the road, while still allowing the shock to handle medium-duty jobsite and off-road applications without letting you down. Each shock comes standard with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance and 5/8" hourglass bushings for its body and axle mounts.

For 4" Lift Kits Only: this shock will only fit F150s equipped with a 4" lift kit, and will not fit trucks at stock ride heights.

Sold Individually: each shock is sold individually, and a quantity of two will be required for most applications.

I am putting on 3” block and Road master active suspension which typically gives me 1.25” more lift, would this work or should I step up to the 6” version?

That combination puts you in between both options, but going with this shock is going to be your best bet. The 6" lift shock would most likely be too long and would cause it to be too compressed.

Will this fit the tremors with a factory blocks?

We can't guarantee fitment on the Tremors. Even if we could, this shock would likely be a downgrade over your Tremor's current rear shock.

I see that these come with your Ready Lift 7" lift kit, but in a previous question Stage3 basically stated to get shocks for a 6" lift. Just a little confused if these will work with a 6" of not.

Whether this shock will work depends entirely on what rear lift and rear block your kit is using. Most 6" lift kits use a 5" rear block, which is too tall for this shock. Most 4" lift kits use either a stacked 2" block or 4" rear block, and this shock will work fine. Some 6" lifts (or even ReadyLift's 7" kit) use a 4" block, and this shock would work in those cases. Unfortunately, Bilstein does not currently have a front 5100/5125 series part number for the F150s as of yet.

I have the RC 4" lift and a 1.5" add a leaf. Is this the shock I need?

If you're using Rough Country's rear block with a 1.5" add-a-leaf, you'd be better off with a shock option meant for 6" lift kits.

According to Bilstein, this shock has a collapsed length of 17.91" and an extended length of 29.70".

My truck is a 4x4 with the factory rear block. I did a RC 4" lift but the rear was only lifted 2" ontop of the factory block. Would these work?

Yep. This shock will work with lift kits that come with either a 4" rear block or 2" stacked blocks.
