Quick install. the rubber edges could have been of better quality and not glued well. Received a small piece broken that I had to manufacture locally.

Customer Question What’s the difference between the x2 and the x4?

Asked by: Raptor9 - 10/3/2020
Customer Answer Finish is the only difference. The X2 has a satin black finish. The X4 has a matte black finish.

Customer Question I have had my roll top cover and love it! Only prob I had is that it conflicts with the flip cage extender. I can still use, but the locking brackets interfere with the flip motion so I have to take out the cage and rotate manually. My question: after about a year, the cover is not "locking" as easily into place. Also, it does not roll as freely as it did in the beginning. Is there any area I should lubricate or adjust? Please advise.

Asked by: Eric - 5/9/2019
Customer Answer You can try to adjust the forward slide mounts near the cab to try to realign the latch so that it functions a little better. As far as rolling, you can try cleaning out the rails and putting some sort of mild lubricant on them, but it's tough to say how much that'll help.

Customer Question How much weight can the cover hold, as in, could someone stand on top of the cover without damaging it?

Asked by: Stu - 1/6/2018
Customer Answer According to BAK, this tonneau cover can handle up to 400lbs of distributed weight, so as long as you're close to the median weight for an adult male, you shouldn't have any issues if you need to stand on top of the tonneau cover.

Customer Question How weatherproof is this cover? Will it keep all items dry and protected from the weather?

Asked by: J - 11/1/2016
Customer Answer It's fairly weatherproof, though not 100% waterproof. The seal does a good job of keeping out moderate amounts of rain or snow, but it'll still let some amount of water through.

Customer Question Can you easily remove the tonneau cover if you want to use the entire truck bed? Not, just rolling it up but removing it.

Asked by: Taglek - 8/18/2016
Customer Answer The cover bolts into place with just a couple of bolts and nuts, so while there's some disassembly involved, it's not overly difficult. Check out BAK's Install Video for an idea of how it all goes together and comes apart.

Customer Question What secures the sides of cover to the rails? I saw the video, but it doesn't make clear as how the sides are secured. I saw that the latch at the end also. I'm just curious whether it can be pryed open from the sides even if it's latched... Sorry for the paragraph LOL

Asked by: Rich - 3/5/2016
Customer Answer The cover itself is held to the bed by a pretty standard clamping system that holds the rails of the cover to bed caps and lets the cover itself sit pretty flush. It's pretty difficult (though not impossible) to wedge something between the edge of the bed and cover a pry up.

Customer Question Would this be easy to break into from the Velcro sides for thief?

Asked by: Rich - 3/4/2016
Customer Answer The tonneau doesn't use Velcro to stay down, it uses a locking rail mechanism with a latch and handle that's only accessible when the tailgate is down. See BAK's YouTube Video for more information.
