What tunes does it come preloaded with?

This will come with the pre-loaded tune made by Bully Dog for your truck application. Tunes vary depending on what engine your truck is equipped with, but do have adjustable parameters such as tire size as you are going through the tuning process.

Can this tuner disable the top speed restrictor for a 2011 f150 3.5 ecoboost?

It can, though we don't recommend taking the truck beyond 125mph, since that's the limit of the stock driveshafts.

will this unit give me better fuel milage

This unit can potentially get you better fuel economy, as long as you drive like you actually want to get good fuel economy. The biggest issue with tuning is that a lot of folks tend to "enjoy" the increased power and torque a bit too much and get a little heavy on the throttle, which leads to a LOSS in fuel economy. As long as you drive your vehicle like you want to get good fuel economy, you should see a slightly increase over stock.

Yep. There's not a huge difference in overall process between the two devices. The menus are labeled a bit differently, but the process is nearly identical.

How does the tuner affect fuel economy on a 2014 3.5 EcoBoost?

In general, Bully Dog's tuning should improve fuel economy, assuming you actually drive like you're trying to get good fuel economy. The issue that a lot of folks run into is that they start smashing the throttle to enjoy the extra power and end up losing fuel efficiency in the process.

Can this be used with catless downpipes on a 2012 f150 ecoboost?

This device cannot tune for off-road or catless downpipes. You would need custom tuning for off-road/catless systems.

The tunes will be preloaded on the device, depending on your truck's model year and engine. If you have a newer truck, you may have to run a firmware update on the device to get your tunes.

DOES THIS PRODUCT BYPASS OR ELIMINATE THE SPEED LIMITER?

That varies depending on the model year and engine option of your truck. However, on most F150s, the Bully Dog can adjust or remove your truck's speed limiter. That being said, we don't recommend taking your truck beyond 125mph, as that's about the limit that the stock driveshafts can handle.

Is this unit for all motors of the f150? We just download the specific tune for our motor? Also are the tunes free

We have a compatibility list on our product listing. If your truck is one of the GT Platinum's compatible vehicles, then the tunes should already be on the device and ready for upload into your truck. If they're not, then the device may need a firmware update using your home PC.

I own a 2017 F150 XLT 5.0. I have been waiting for the Bully Dog BDX with 5 star tuning to be available for my year. What is the difference in the Bully Dog GT platinum gas tuner vs the BDX? Can I still get 5 star tunes on the GT? Any idea when the 2017 BDX will be available? Is there any other tuners you would recommend for my truck? Thanks for your time and knowledge.

The Bully Dog GT has a different internal architecture and firmware than the BDX, and is designed more as a monitor than a handheld. 5-Star can tune some Bully Dog tuning devices like the newer GTs. BDX compatibility is currently being worked on by SCT, and they'll hopefully have the 2017 F150 strategies unlocked and ready to go here in the near future.
