Much Easier and Safer Super Duty Tailgate Operation

The rear tailgate on your Super Duty truck isn't the lightest thing in the world and its tendency to slam down when opened can be a major safety concern. Thankfully, the good people over at Dee Zee have come to our rescue with this Tailgate Assist. With this super inexpensive and easy to install gas-charged strut assembly, your rear tailgate will now come down as gently as though you're getting a helping hand. The DeeZee Super Duty Tailgate Assist System is a gas-charged strut assembly that slows the fall of your tailgate whenever you pop it open, bringing it to a slow steady stop without you needing to hold onto it.

Easy Installation

The kit includes (1) Tailgate Assist that installs on the driver side only. It's incredibly easy to install and allows you to retain your truck's factory tailgate cables. The DeeZee tailgate assist comes with all its necessary installation hardware and instructions.

Reasonably priced. Simple installation. You need to mushroom the bolt that goes into the tail gate just a little so that it will crush when you tighten it.

F250

Installation was straight forward and simple. Took about 10 minutes. I have a factory backup camera on my tailgate and I dropped the tailgate a couple times(not on purpose) and the camera failed. Luckily I was still under warranty and had it replaced. This product gives me a piece of mind knowing it'll go down smooth if it does drop again. For the price and the ease of the install I would recommend this to anyone who has a heavy tailgate.

2008 f250

1 retainer clip broke during install. Stage 3 immediately sent out a replacement part. Excellent customer service. As for the shock, I don't think it's heavy duty enough for an F250 SD tailgate. It works ok but I doubt it will hold up. Time will tell.

2016 F250

The only good thing about this product is the price. I have had this on my truck for less than 2 months and i do not abuse my tailgate. Not only did this product fail, it decided to shoot off taking a nice chunk of paint of when it did. On top of all of this the manufacturer refuses to respond to my emails. If you want something that works, do not waste your money on this product.

I talked to the factory DZ and they said it will not work please give me the mounting instructions? I have seen other post that says they have made it work I would like to do this?
