Increased Air Flow With An AIRAID Throttle Body Spacer

AIRAID engineered the PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer in order to make the most of the available power and torque of your engine, as well as optimize fuel economy. Designed to enhance off-idle torque, AIRAID's patented Helix Bore design gives the incoming air a spinning motion as it passes through the spacer, which improves the velocity of the air charge as it enters the combustion chamber. It also contributes to better atomization of the air/fuel mixture. This item can be installed with minimal experience and basic tools. It took me about 20 mins start to finish. Noticed the difference right away. The guys at stage 3 were very friendly and helpful.

Slight mid-range +... 4 more MPG!!!

As reported- This is an easy install (Took longer to get to the throttle body, than to do the install). A slight increase in mid range. 4 MPG increase (NO B.S. I was @ 17.7 on the street - and, now 21.6)! No whistle. Very pleased!

2013 Ford F-150 STX 5.0

Great product and easy install. At this point I haven't been able to verify the increase in fuel economy. I purchase this product along with the AIRAID cold air intake and Borla catback exhaust system and haven't been able to keep my foot out of her long enough to tell. Overall from a performance standpoint it provides more air to the motor and there isn't any lag in response when you kick it into passing gear. Great product!!!

5.0L AIRAID POWERAID THROTTLE BODY SPACER

I have owned a few of these in the past so I already knew it would be a snap to install, took me 20 minutes if that.You can feel the extra take off power right away. Gas per mile is yet to be fully determined because I have only had it installed for a week but its noticeable already. My STANG is a daily drive Pony so I will see larger saving as the car adjusts to the install.

2014 Ford F150 5.0L

To be honest, I was skeptical that these worked with modern port injection, but, I was pleasantly surprised. I am getting about 1 to 2 mpg more in mixed driving, and there is instant torque off idle, 100% improvement in throttle response off a standing start. I will caveat that with mentioning that I have a K&N Cold air intake, which actually hurt throttle response off idle, all other things unchanged. What I can absolutely attest to, is a K&N cold air intake with this throttle body spacer is a very noticeable improvement in performance over stock. I am very pleased. (To clarify; If you have a stock intake, I can not say what this part alone will do w/o the cold air intake. My cold air intake increased low end power, but hurt throttle response off a standing start, this spacer got that response back , and more. If you have the stock intake, you may not notice as much of an improvement in throttle response off the line.)

2017 Ford F150 XLT V8

First time using a throttle body space and was a bit scared to try. Wow, what a difference! I love the sound and power it added to my truck. Got rid of the hesitation and also works great with my Spectre CIA.

2013 f150 5.0

Right off the bat gasket is the wrong size and Dosent fit spacer. So I used rtv sealant red. I swear u pay 133 for a piece of aluminum and can't even get the gasket right. Always something. Waiting for it to dry so I can try it out.

2014 F150 5.0 stx

I've used these before and like the response it gives with combination of a Cai and tune but the whistle is pretty high pitched if you can stand it, how ever I have tires that give a little road noise and a 4' exhaust that helps to drown it out a bit but over all a good easy upgrade in my opinion.

I've had this product on 2 other vehicles, this is why I came back. This time I did not notice any difference. I would just buy other mods and don't waste your money on this particular vehicle mod.

2019 f150

2 stars. Only benefit was a little better throttle response. No noticeable difference in sound (already had a cai) no noticeable difference in mpg. Item received was black instead of the red color in the picture so no style points either. Stage 3 did a good job getting the item shipped quickly.

It's our understanding that this spacer will fit on a 2020 F150 5.0L, though we can't strictly guarantee whether or not it'll fix your whistling issue.

Will this fit a 2016 f150 5.0, I've seen a different model made by them same part just smaller in thickness. Don't want to by the wrong part it looks like with this thick model it would run into the radiator coolant?

Will this spacer fit 1823 bbk throttle body 85mm?

This spacer only fits F150s and Mustangs equipped with a 5.0L V8, and will not fit 6.2L V8 models. If you mean the BBK 1821 Throttle Body, then the spacer will technically bolt up, however, we do not recommend using the two in conjunction with each other since the spacer is only the factory diameter, so you just end up re-restricting the BBK unit.

Both spacers fit and function more or less the same. Both will fit a Banks Cold Air Intake Kit.

Is this product more useful with the stock throttle body or the aftermarket throttle body? If I was to buy the spacer would it be better with the stock or should I just buy a throttle body alone?

The problem is that the spacer is the diameter of the factory throttle body, so if you use it in conjunction with a larger-diameter aftermarket throttle body you'll just be reducing the airflow back down to the factory diameter after the performance throttle body of your choice. Really, we only recommend doing one or the other. As to which way you should go, it really depends on far you're going to take your modding and your power goals. If you want to maximize power, then a full throttle body is a good choice, especially if you're going to add other upgrades and tuning down the road. If you're doing a more mild build without tuning, then there's nothing wrong with a spacer, and you probably wouldn't reap all the benefits of a complete throttle body anyway.

Will this throttle body spacer work with the BBK 90mm throttle body? Or will it just work with stock throttle bodies?

It will technically bolt up with a BBK 90mm or 85mm throttle body, but it does have the factory diameter, so all you'd be doing is restricting airflow back down again after the throttle body. You'd be much better off with just the throttle body alone.
