I have always heard if you have never done it don't do it. My truck is coming up on 100k miles and I like to upgrade as I maintain. What are the chances of having trans issues if I bought this pan?

Asked by: Caleb Douglas - 4/12/2017

With a proper installation, they'd be no worse than stock.

So how many quarts of transmission fluid will I be needing now?

Asked by: GREG FELICIEN - 10/15/2016

The pan adds 3 quarts of fluid capacity. Total transmission fluid capacity for the 6R140 is roughly 17 quarts, but you generally only get our about half that out during a typical fluid change. The exact amount you'll get out of your pan during install is going to vary somewhat, but you'd likely need have at least 12-13 quarts ready while you check your dipstick periodically for proper fill levels.
