I was hesitant at first because I have a Westin Headache Rack installed and was concerned this cover may not be compatible. I asked about it and Stage 3 was quick to assure me it would "probably" work. Yeah, I bought this on a probably....To my luck, it did in fact install without issue. I had just enough clearance between the headache rack supports and the rails that support this cover. Installation was easy and drill free. Like the video says, install the middle clamp loosely at first, then add the front and back ones. It makes getting the rails just right a lot easier. I also like how each panel individually locks to the rail to make it more secure against would-be gear thieves and the wind/elements. It is a little annoying unlocking them, but it only takes 2 seconds per panel. Long story short, I have purchased the vast majority of my F150 stuff from Stage 3 and they have always had competitive pricing and quick shipping as well as outstanding customer support.

Great quality, Easy to install, Keeps the bed of the truck nice and dry. Love that you don't have to open the tonneau just to close the tailgate.

Expensive. But, worth it. This is the second Bakflip I've owned. The first one I purchased used in 2012 and used it daily until I recently sold the truck. My family loves the ability to lock up our belongings and keep our cargo dry while traveling. It boasts a new design that uses integrated tie straps that keep the panels in place when traveling and partially folded back. Also, this newer model is lighter weight than the previous one, which was way overkill and a pain to deal with on the few occasions when I removed it for extra large cargo. I definitely cringed when I hit the Purchase button, but at least these guys offer free shipping, and in the end, we definitely get our monies worth out of the Bakflip!

If it was an option I would give this a 3.5 star review, but leaned towards the 4 vs a 3 star review given they were my options. Overall, I am happy with the tonneau, I will say the quality control is lacking so be sure to check all hardware on the cover to make sure it is all tight, I found a couple items loose. Also, one of the rod-tensioners that allow you to operate with the cover up against the rear windshield was backwards, this piece is captured between the latch and the threads you screw the tensioner into, so I had to drill a hole in the back of the plastic piece that tensions the rod to install in the correct direction, because I did not want to remove those items. I have also found that this cover is not completely water tight as well, especially at the corners, the good news is the water quickly finds it's way out of the bed drains and it appears your luggage will stay completely dry unless it's in the corners. I've tried to adjust and replace the rear bulkhead seal but still have the same issue. It appears others have made them water tight using black silicone but I'm not that worried about it, there is more value from a tonneau than just weather protection and it does a good job of keeping gear dry. Overall I am happy with it, but if I could do it over again I would likely buy a less expensive hard folding cover. I feel like the MX4 commands a premium price, but their quality control is lacking and in my case did not justify the cost over the competitors.

Probably the most expensive thing I've ever had in the bed. Fit & finish is top notch, you can definately feel it's a high quality cover, I can't see why this cover should not last the life of the truck. I enjoy the low profile design and how well it secures the bed. If the truck is locked, so is the tail gate and cover. It does not flutter in the wind at freeway speeds like so many other covers. It's pricey, but worth every penny.

One of the best purchases I've made for my truck. It looks great, install was a breeze and does what it's supposed to. I live in South Florida and it's constantly raining here. As of now everything in my bed has been kept dry. I don't know how it would fare in one of those brushless car washes as I'm the one one cleans my truck. I saw this model on sale on a different website. I called Stage 3 up and they priced matched with no issues. I ordered the tonneau cover on a Monday and it was here on Thursday. As always Stage3motorsports does a great job. Only place I shop for my truck!

Customer Question Will this fit a 2021 f-150? The page says through 2020 and I can’t find any for 2021.

Asked by: Bradley R Carn - 11/3/2021
Customer Answer According to BAK, this tonneau cover will only fit up to the 2020 model year. The BAK MX4 for the 2021 F150s is here.

Customer Question I currently have a factory bed liner. Will this create complications when installing this cover?

Asked by: Bran - 6/3/2020
Customer Answer This tonneau cover will fit just fine with both the factory spray-in liner and plastic drop-in liner. It can be a little annoying to fit and tighten the clamps with the plastic bed liner, but it's still doable.

Customer Question How hard is it to remove when needing to carry large items?

Asked by: Aqueel - 5/25/2020
Customer Answer It's not overly difficult. You'd just have to remove the two knobs and washers holding the panels to the system's rails and then lift out the panel assembly. Your only real issue is that the panel assembly is pretty heavy, so keep that in mind.

Customer Question I have a Westin HDX Headache Rack installed on my 2018 F150 with 5.5 bed. Would this cover be compatible?

Asked by: Zach - 8/11/2019
Customer Answer You would be able to install the cover with an HDX headache rack as long as you still have some room on the bed rails. Folding the tonneau shouldn't be an issue, though it will likely rattle against the rack if you have it fully opened.

Asked by: Jan - 4/13/2019
Customer Answer The G2 has a satin finish, while the MX4 has a matte finish. Functionally and practically, the two are the same.

Customer Question Some pictures show a 4 panel and some a 3 panel. I'm looking for a 4 panel (on a 5.5ft bed it gives more options). Is this a 4 panel or 3? Thanks

Asked by: Shannon - 4/27/2018
Customer Answer This particular tonneau is a 3-panel design for the 5.5ft bed trucks. Only variants for the 6.5ft beds have four panels for most folding tonneau covers. You may want to consider either a roll-up or retractable tonneau cover, if you're looking for more versatility.

Customer Question Is this the same model as Bak has on their Website? They show "BAKFlip MX4 model 448329 (replacing #48329)" just want to make sure. Thanks!

Asked by: Ada - 3/3/2017
Customer Answer Yep. Same model. BAK is in the process of updating their packaging, and that's the only real difference. Once stock depletes of the old packaging, we'll be updating our part numbers accordingly. The tonneau itself is exactly the same, however.
