2004-2007 F250 & F350 6.0L Banks Monster Exhaust 48785

This is a big investment for something you're uncertain about. I'm too old to want a loud exhaust. Did that, been there. Dealt with the highway drone, trying to be respectful leaving neighborhood early in the morning. Not for me anymore. I'm the second owner, having purchased this truck at a year old with 15k on the clock. It is now at only 61k with mostly highway miles towing toys. Other than the 7.3 fan kit (tired of electric fan coming up to speed _after_ it overheated while towing, with added bonus AC works much better at idle), it was completely stock. But of course the oil cooler went out just past 50k. I had the BP air/oil cooler kit with their improved EGR installed so I won't have to worry about that again. Mullins in Ocala did a great job and very honest (charged less than quoted!) and even cleaned the sticking turbo. They recommended a 100Hp tune from SuperChips since I did not plan on studding the heads. Definitely an improvement, but would bog down a bit. After hearing the Banks on my friends 7.3, I went for this system which keeps the Cat and glad I did. It is _barely_ louder than stock, almost imperceptible. What is immediately noticeable is not necessarily power gains, but throttle sensitivity. It just reacts much better, from tip-in to WOT, the R's seem to come up much faster now. I am only doing mods for durability and drivability reasons, not all-out performance. Not wanting another truck payment if I can help it. This is something I should've done ages ago, though. Installation was easy, according to my much younger diesel-mechanic friend, who is also recommending a cold-air intake. Again, been there, done that, not sure I want the added cabin noise. I am considering the Atlas FICM tune as the reviews also point to improved throttle response. And if you're wondering about fuel economy with this exhaust, why'd you buy a 7k pound vehicle?

Installed this easy bolt on upgrade exhaust. It was a snap! Now my 6.0 can breath along with an AIRAID Cold Air Intake and a EDGE CTS II tuner. AWESOME!
