This can works amazing. I am almost disgusted with how much it catches. I poured 10oz of nasty water/oil/fuel mix out if it in the first 200 miles (this was during 20F weather). Works great and looks very nice as well

2012 F-150 FX4 Ecoboost

This catch can was super easy to install, I did it in about 10 minutes, the hardest part was finding a razor so I could cut out a bit of the rubber that attaches to the headlight so I could run the lines. Once I check out the catch can in a few thousand miles I will see how much it collects. But anything not going through is good enough for me.

2011 F150 Ecoboost

I just installed the catch can yesterday. Install is pretty smooth. I watched the install video and it is pretty straighforward. However, the catch can is a lot different than what is in the video...but that is a good thing. The hardware has been upgraded for ease of installation. Instructions that come with the item are pretty lame. You have to relocate the ACT sensor to a lower spot because it is right where you are supposed to mount the catch can. I went to the UPR website and got better instructions. At any rate, it took me maybe 15 minutes to install. Now, I wait to see if it does what it says. Looks good behind the grille.

2013 f150 ecoboost

installed this kit in less than 20 min looks works even better checked it at 1500 miles and had around 3-4 ounces of oil and condensation . I don't feel the fluttering from the turbo's no more and I believe throttle response has gotten better happy with this product.

Really impress with heavy duty hoses and the quality of this billet catch can, installation was plug n play, love the accessibility to drain the oil since it's located just behind the hood grill. Highly recommend!

2011 F-150 Ecoboost

Installation was easy and straight-forward. The catch can is quality-built and the drain valve is a nice feature. I have drained enough oil and gunk after a few thousand miles to know this was a very good purchase. Highly recommend!

Install

Install was super easy, the new spacer that came with the can, provided max clearance when you close the hood. Adds a nice touch through the grill. Install was about 10min. So far been draining a lot of water, oil mix.

2011 f150

Looks excellent, Install took a little longer than was thought trying to snake hoses through by headlight. One hose I could not fit through so I ran it over the top of the radiator support. Engine cover will not fit with new hoses under it. With some trimming to it, they should fit under it. Catches water and other fluids like it should. So far satisified with its performance.

Can this be mounted somewhere inside the engine compartment- like on the firewall? I'd like a location that isn't visible through my grille. Thank you

The can can technically be mounted anywhere you're willing to drill or anywhere you can find a spare nut or bolt. However, the lines are likely not long enough for a firewall mount, so you'd have extend them or find longer lines.

Do you recommend a single valve or dual valve billet catch can for the 2014 3.5L Ecoboost?

It really depends on what kind of problems you're having with blow-by and how long you're going to keep your truck. We generally recommend getting either a dual-valve or dual can setup, but your best bet would be to check the connections on your intercooler for oil residue and gauge your need from there.

Hello I was thinking, can I route both driver and passenger side pcv lines to one catch can or do I need 2? And the other question was is their a reason why I can't just put a breather on both pcv valves and plug and or delete the line that's introducing the oil to the inter cooler. I would imagine that letting the oil vent to atmosphere would solve that shudder? Thanks Justin

You could feasibly use one can and reroute both lines, but the Single-Valve can's hoses are all pre-cut, so you would need to add hosing to the system and then do splicing and custom work to get it to function properly, not to mention you'll miss out getting the full effect of the CSS drawing vacuum at WOT. Still, it's doable, technically. While just plopping a pair of breathers would get you more less the same result, that set up is most definitely not street legal, may not pass emissions in certain areas, makes your engine bay smell to high heaven, and at the rate you'll go through breather filters, you'd probably just save money in the long run by installing a complete catch can.

I already have one of the basic inline cans set up on my passenger side. was thinking about getting the matching one for driver side but I'm wondering if i should do this instead. will this fit on driver side? or should i just go with another inline

This can won't fit on the driver's side of your truck out of the box, so it would need modifications to the mounting bracket and probably the hoses. The most effective way to adjust your can setup would be to get this can, use it on the passenger side, and then transfer over your current can to the driver's side and modify its lines to get it to work. If you don't want to go through that hassle, then grabbing a second inline can would be the easiest solution.

How much can this catch can safely hold before needing emptied?

In general, about 10-12oz. However, you'll probably want to empty the can before that point depending on your climate and the amount of water content that the can pulls out of the PCV.

We do not recommend grabbing one for each side. If you want to capture from both PCV valves, you'd be better off using a UPR Dual-Valve Catch Can. This can uses a three-chambered internal design that's more effective at capturing and blow-by oils and condensation than the more standard in-line cans with their more basic percolating design.

Can this be use for the pcv system on a 2007 f150 5.4L 3V engine? I have a small one but I would like something like this to hold more fluid and have more dress in the engin bay.

Other than probably needing a different mounting location, requiring custom-length hoses, and possibly needing different fittings (though I think the quick-fits may work), there's no reason why it couldn't work. However, the can is built for the EcoBoost trucks and we can't really guarantee proper functionality.
