aFe's Stage 2 cold air intake for the 2011 to 2014 F150 5.0Ls is a powerful addition to these V8 trucks, and now aFe includes a set of Pro Dry S washable air filters with their mighty kit so you don't have to deal with re-oiling and potentially ruining your MAF sensors. Even with the dry filter, aFe's F150 Stage 2 intake flows up to 20% better than stock and can deliver an extra 9 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque without any other modifications or custom tuning. The kit is a quick, easy, bolt-on replacement for your stock intake system.

Complete F150 Cold Air Intake Kit

The kit is based around a 5-1/2" diameter aFe Pro Dry S air filter that replaces your stock paper air filter and air box. The filter can be washed an reused without any oiling, making it one of aFe's most hassle-free intake systems. aFe includes new inlet tubing with their Stage 2 kit that features 16-gauge aluminum construction with a black powder coat finish. The design improves inlet air flow while also resisting heat and corrosion. The kit is extremely easy to install and comes with all the necessary hardware and installation instructions.

50-State Legal: This Cold Air Intake meets the California Air Resource Board (CARB) regulations, making this modification street legal and ensures it meets emissions regulations.The CARB EO ID# is D-550-15.

Pretty easy install. It took about 40 minutes to assemble and install at night with a drop light. I added this as well as a SCT tune from 5Star the I purchased from Stage3. BIG performance difference as well as a substantial GROWL from under the hood. Sounds like a beast!

Installed mine recently. Install was simple and easy if your handy. The growl it gives at 3000rpms is mean sounding inside and out of the cab. I also have a borla exhaust system which gave it a deeper tone. I highly recommend this product. Stage3motorsports is a awesome place to purchase from.

2013 F150 FX4 5.0

I have had this CAI for close to 4 years now. It's paired with a BBK 90mm throttle body, MBRP exhaust, and BAMA tunes. Kit is a quick and easy install. Provided immediate sound and throttle response improvements. I do however have a couple of detractors to mention. The AFE logo plate was attached upside down, but it's only an aesthetic (QC) issue. The rubber piece between the pipe and throttle body has split in two places. Definitely not aesthetic unfortunately.

2014 F150 STX 5.0

Took about 45 minutes to install. Immediately noticed an awesome aggressive sound from under the hood even with only moderate throttle, yet it's tame enough to where you don't hear it when cruising. Coupled with a 5 Star Performance tune, my truck is a completely different beast now. Definitely recommend

Do y'all prefer the AFE Stage 2 dry intake, or the Airaid Synthamax dry intake? Which one produces better gains?

The difference in gains between the two intakes will be minimal, and would be tough to measure. In any case, I personally prefer the Airaid Kit just because the fit and finish are a little better and it's not quite as loud as the aFe. Still, some of the guys around the shop do prefer the aFe, because it is slightly louder and looks a bit more aggressive under the hood.

I am planning on getting this intake and the Borla exhaust for my truck at some point, but I can only get one at first, and I'll have to wait for the other. My truck is stock, except for a 5 star 93 octane performance tune. Would the intake or exhaust be more beneficial for performance first? Or would it not make much of a difference either way? Thank you in advance

The difference won't be huge either way, thought technically, you'd squeeze a smidge more power out of the intake rather than the ca-back kit.

will this cold air kit fit the boss intake manifold?

No, it will not. The Boss 302 Manifold requires a heavily-modified intake system for proper fitment, and it's almost always better to get the manifold, intake, and tuning as part of a single kit, like our own Boss 302 Manifold Kit.

This kit will not work on a Boss 302 manifold. The Boss 302 manifolds require a heavily-modified aFe intake for use on the manifold.

What is he difference between this intake and the stage 2 blue intake, besides it being dry. Is there something else j may be missing. Also which would you recommend dry or oiled?

That's basically the only difference. Technically, aFe says that the blue filters flow slightly better and capture more stuff, but the difference is within a single percent or less. If it were my truck, I'd personally go for this Pro Dry S intake, just because it is easier to clean, and here in Arizona where there's a lot of dust and pollution, you need to clean the filters fairly often.
