Great Look and Improved Clearance for Larger Tires

If you want to squeeze on some proper-sized 33x12.50" tires onto your F150 truck build, you're going to need at least a 3" front spacer kit. However, 3" spacers can leave you with a nose-high stance. Our friends over at Rough Country have a complete solution with this 3" leveling lift kit. The kit includes a pair of front lift spindles that team up with 2" blocks for the rear of your truck to give your F150 a totally leveled stance. To help improve handling and better deal with the increased rear height, rough country also includes 4 new N2.0 Series shocks for the front and rear. The whole package makes your 2WD F150 look awesome and was carefully designed as a bolt-on upgrade to your truck's stance.

Despite the kit's low cost, it consists of high-quality materials that will keep your F150 looking great for years without issue. Each of the front lift spindles are made from 6061 billet aluminum with a natural silver finish that allows them to stand up to nearly any application or climate. The two 2" rear blocks easily install right on top of your factory rear blocks and come standard with longer U-bolts for a hassle-free installation. Rough Country's N2.0 front and rear shocks drop right into place of your factory shocks and feature a gas-charged design with 10-stage velocity sensitive valving that keeps your street ride smooth while being able to handle light-duty off-road applications.

2003 Ford F-150 4.6L 2WD

Total installation time for me was about 7 hours, mostly because I'm working in my own garage with hand tools, a floor jack, a couple jack stands, etc. Having an air compressor, air tools, and a commercial type vehicle lift would easily make this a 2-4 hour job. I would say my skill level is 7 out of 10 when it comes to shade tree mechanics, so if you're at a similar level installation of this kit won't be intimidating (the instructions included in the kit were 100% spot on when it came to my install). The hardest part was unbolting the stock steering and suspension components (ball joints)... after 173k miles they didn't want to budge and I had to rent a ball joint removal tool from my local auto parts store to break them loose. I wanted to run 33 tires on my 2003 F-150 2WD with stock wheels and this kit was exactly what I needed. Please be advised, there are a number of reviews on the internet for this kit reporting that the lift spindles resulted in a wider stance than stock. This is 100% true. I contacted Rough Country before purchasing the kit and even though they advised me the spindles would not result in a wider front stance compared to stock, each of my front wheels now sits 2.5 wider (total length from outside of driver/passenger front wheel is now 79 when it used to be 74). To compensate for this I've ordered a set of 2.5 wheel spacers for the rear axle of my truck so they will line up with the front tires. This is really the only reason I'm rating this kit 4 stars. Everything else about it (installation, instructions, quality of lift components, ride quality after installation, etc.) is great. Purchasing the kit from Stage 3 was easy and I received it in a couple business days. I would recommend it to anyone wanting more ground clearance and the ability to run 33 tires on their 2WD F-150 trucks. Just be aware that you'll have to be OK with a wider front stance or prepare to purchase wheel spacers for the rear axle so everything matches. The pic attached to my review is with my truck with lift installed and new 33 tires. If you look closely, you can see that the front wheel looks a bit wider than the rear.

There's a huge variety of wheels and tires you can potentially use. A lot of your choice is going to depend on what kind of look you want, how far you want your tires to stick out, etc. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277.

I am getting ready to place the order for this kit and wanted to get some advice on wheel offset. I understand from the customer reviews that this kit makes the front end by 5" overall 2.5 per side. I am placing an order for wheels and tires as well and want to make sure I dont make the truck any wider than the 5". I will be going with an 18" wheel but wanted advice on the offset? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Phil

Unfortunately, most aftermarket wheels will push your tires out from the fenders even more, due to most aftermarket wheels having less backspace than stock. You could play around with your front offsets and a set of rear spacers to get an even look, but your best bet would be to give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 for possible options.

In our experience, this kit tends to get the 1997-2003 RWD trucks about dead-level, depending on the condition of the rear leaf springs.
