While a cold air intake is a solid upgrade on its own, it's even better when your motor has been tuned to take advantage of the improved airflow. That's why we here at Stage 3 put together this awesome performance package for the 2011 to 2014 F150 5.0L trucks that saves you cash over ordering all the parts separately. Each kit pairs an aFe Stage 2 Cold Air Intake with a powerful custom PCM tune from 5-Star Tuning that's pre-loaded onto your choice of a SCT X4 handheld tuner or Livewire TS+ tuner. The new custom tune files take into account the increased airflow of the intake system to provide your truck with more horsepower, more torque, better fuel economy, and improved shifting.

aFe Stage 2 Cold Air Intake

The aFe Stage 2 cold air intake is one of the best bolt-on F150 performance parts for the 5.0L V8 engines and is a direct bolt-on replacement for your stock sealed air box and rubber tubing. Each intake kit features mandrel-bent inlet tubing that generates more airflow for engine with lower charge air temperatures than stock. On top of more horsepower and torque, the kit provides improved fuel economy and throttle response that instantly changes how your truck feels.

Choose an SCT Livewire TS+ OR an X4 Handheld Tuner

This performance package comes standard with an SCT X4 Tuner, but it can be upgraded to the SCT Livewire TS+. The Livewire features a full-color touchscreen display that allows you to easily keep tabs on your F150's engine parameters, check DTC's, and efficiently navigate all of your available custom tunes. It is extremely easy to use and includes a windshield mount, OBD-II cable, and a USB cable to download custom tunes from your home PC.

5-Star's tunes turn up your 2011 to 2014 F150 5.0L's power by adjusting its fuel curves, ignition timing, fan control, and a ton of other variables so that your truck makes huge amounts of horsepower and torque. 5-Star's custom tuning even takes into account tire size, drivetrain, and axle ratio so that your F150 operates perfectly with your choice of tune. 5-Star's custom tunes are available in several variations for 87, 89, 91, or 93 octane gasoline to give you a wide range of tuning options.

From the factory, the 5.0L F150s are a little sluggish, thanks to their less than ideal mid-range torque and transmission shifting that's designed for fuel economy over responsiveness. 5-Star's tuning helps immensely by increasing low-end torque over stock, while adjusting your truck's shift points, pressures, and throttle sensitivity for much more responsive driving. More importantly, 5-Star's tuning provides increased power throughout the entire rev range so that you always have extra performance on tap. 5-Star's 5.0L test truck made 270 horsepower and around 285lb-ft of torque at the wheels. With 5-Star's 93 octane Performance/Tow tune, their test vehicle threw down 290 peak horsepower and 315lb-ft of peak torque, which makes for an instantly noticeable gain in power. Their truck even picked up gains of up to 25lb-ft of torque below 2750rpm, which is right where the 5.0L F150s are sorely lacking. Even 5-Star's 87 octane Performance/Tow tune was able to put down 275 peak horsepower and 295lb-ft of torque, meaning you can make your truck feel and drive much better than stock, even on low-octane fuel.

Stage 3's 5-Star Custom Tuning Step-by-Step:
1. Place your order for 5-Star's Custom Tunes.
2. Stage 3 sends you a "blank" tuner without custom tunes.
3. Connect your tuner to your truck and pull its ECU strategy code.
4. Fill out our online tune form with your info.
5. 5-Star creates your tunes, you will be emailed a link to download them.
6. Download 5-Star's tunes to your PC and then load them to your tuner using SCT's Device Updater Software.
7. Load your 5-Star Custom Tune of choice into your F150.

SCT's software is ONLY compatible with Microsoft Windows computers. Once the tunes are successfully loaded onto the tuner, you can tune your truck.
