2011-2016 F150 3.5L EcoBoost aFe Cold Air Intake (Lid/ Cover Only)

Let's face it, cold air intakes can be a little on the noisy side. Given their incredible gains in horsepower, torque and improved fuel economy, however, it's something most of just live with rather than having the more restrictive factory stock intake systems. The engineers at aFe have come up with a solution for their wildly popular F150 EcoBoost Cold Air Intakes. The aFe Cold Air Intake Cover is constructed of vacuum formed ABS plastic material that bolts right up to the intake housing. The aFe logo is front and center letting everyone know what brand of intake you have. This cover provides a stealthy yet aggressive style without hurting the performance of the intake. So if you already have or are thinking about purchasing the most popular Ecoboost F150 intake on the market from aFe, adding this aFe Intake Cover will not only greatly reduce the noise that the intake can make at those higher RPMs, but it also acts as added protection from radiant engine heat entering the intake system. Engine heat soak entering your intake system is just the opposite of what a cold air intake system can do for your engine and instead of increasing your overall performance, can actually rob your engine of power. This cover will reduce the probability of that happening.

Vacuum Formed Plastic Cover:The Magnum Force Stage 2 Cold Air Intake Cover creates a stealthy under-hood look while reducing air intake noise...all without sacrificing power.

Installation: This cover bolts right up to the air intake housing for the aFe Power Stage 2 intake for a simple, hassle-free installation.

2012 F150 Ecoboost

Nice quality, seems to seal against box on 3 sides very well. On the side closest to the fender, not so much. Returns the truck to almost-stock noise levels. You still get a little more intake and turbo noise, but it's not noticeable unless you're listening for it. The outside corner closest to the cab rested against the steel AFE filter housing in a weird way that prevented the screws from being able to reach the threaded holes easily. 3 seconds with a dremel fixed it.

This was a great addition to my CAI. For me, the loud whooshing was cool for about 1 day then it just became loud. This cover helped quiet down the whooshing by alot. It's still louder than stock. I also like the more finished look my CAI has versus seeing those cones hanging there.

Big difference in intake air temperature with cover installed on cold air intake, but cover is not designed to easily install over provided rubber cold air intake box seal.

This cover really finished off the look of the afe cai and brought intake noise to near factory sound for the intake. Giving 4 stars because 43 dollars seems high for piece of plastic but would of bought it regardless of price anyways.

Took only about 30 seconds to install. Quieted my intake right down to a level just slightly louder then stock. Definitely recommend this cover.

Will this help with extreme cold weather as well? We hit -31 and my air Intake temp hit around -57 according to my livewire tuner and I started losing a lot of power and turbo sputter, will this help keep that cold of air out to help the engine.

Asked by: Bryan - 1/24/2017

Honestly, the lid will not help you much in that cold of a climate, since the cover's not going to be holding in any heat that your engine won't.

How do you say this lid doesn't affect the performance of the intake when your own dyno results show a 20 Hp hit and 22 TQ hit with vs without?

Asked by: Brian - 1/3/2015

That run was specifically with Edge's "canned" tuning, which did show a significant difference. On a truck with factory tuning or more aggressive custom tuning, there will by little to no difference in output.
