More Efficient Transmission Function

When you've dropped an aftermarket transmission or performance transmission components into your 1999 to 2003 F250 or F350, you may find that your truck's transmission control module (TCM) keeps holding you back from getting the best from your truck's built transmission. That's why ATS developed their Co-Pilot controller kit that allows you to adjust your 4R100's torque converter clutch lockup speed to give you smoother shifting, improved acceleration, and maximum performance out of your truck.

For Built Transmissions Only

Each Co-Pilot kit mounts in your truck's cab and comes with a complete wiring harness and detailed diagrams for hooking into your truck's transmission system. The Co-Pilot Controller was specifically designed for use on built transmissions with improved torque converters and shafts and is not recommended for use on factory 4R100 transmissions due to the increased strain put on your transmission's internal hardware.

In My Ford F250, The automatic Gearbox Changes Down Two Gears When Towing A Fifth Wheeler Up A Hill. The Rpm Of The Motor Changes From Approx. 1600 To About 3100rpm. Will The Copilot resolve This problem And Make The Gearbox Change Down One Geare At A Time??? Eg:from Overdrive To 3rd Gear And Then To 2nd Gear Etc. Like A Normal Automatic Should.

This module doesn't have that functionality, and is not recommended for use on bone-stock 4R100 transmissions. How many gears your transmission will potentially drop down depends on how far the pedal is pressed down (or what speed the cruise control is trying to maintain) versus how much speed the truck is losing, gaining, or maintaining. If you want improved transmission function (though I'm not sure any tuner will completely get you what you need), you should look into getting your truck a tune.
