2012 Ford F150, 3.5L EcoBoost

The fit and finish was everything I have come to expect from S&B as I have used several of their products over the years. Install was a snap, but did have a small issue with getting the air box cover to snap back into place. This is due to the flange around the out side of the filter being thicker than a stock filter, but it seals up better.. Just a little time and patients will get it in place. Having the extra enlargement sleeve makes a big difference since the box is now drawing in more air from the factory location, which is cold air. It provides a little more turbo noise on mild acceleration which is nice to here but not annoying. Overall I'm very pleased with this product. It you do not want to send the big bucks for a full on CAI this is a very good item that will do the same thing for less than half the cost of a CAI. Highly recommend this product.

2011 FX4 Ecboost

Always been a fan of K&N but but decided to give this filter a try just for fact that it comes with the larger air inlet tube. I was very impressed with the quality. The rubber seal is thick and heavy, definitely won't have to worry about it cracking or tearing like some of the filters I've used in the past. The extra air flow lets those turbos sing a little louder as well. Very nice product, good quality. Highly recommend if you want a little something extra but don't want to pay an arm and a leg fora CAI.

F150

Easy to install 5min once factory part is off just fold and push in New part. Changed sound of my truck it sound better and seems to run stronger gas mileage also seems to have improved

2014 F 150

Quality seems good. Took about 30 minutes to install. Hardest part was figuring what the stock box was hanging on. I can't tell any sound difference or fuel mileage etc.

2012 f150 platinum ecoboost

Best bang for your buck! Big difference in snorkel size compared to stock. Easy install. I find I don’t push on throttle as hard to increase speed while in 6th gear.

Would the small diameter or area of the actual intake tube negate the benefit provided by the nice piece of attached snorkel that replaces the stock restrictive piece?

Not really, since the restriction through the filter is a bigger airflow hindrance. By supplying more air before the filter, you get some amount of benefit, regardless of the size of the inlet tube.

I had a Afe in my '13 f150 for awhile but it was too loud... what about this S&B? Not an open CAI but I like to keep a more low profile.

This particular kit drops into your factory air box, and requires the use of the stock upper half of the air box. This kit is not any louder than than the factory filter. The complete S&B cold air intakes are also much quieter than equivalent open-air element intakes.

Would a new custome tune benefit this filter set up?

A custom tune is almost always extremely beneficial to the 2008-2014 F150s, and S&B's filter kit can help squeeze out a bit more performance, than just the tune alone with the factory air box and paper filter.
