This powerful combo for your truck includes an SCT X4 handheld tuner and a full set of up to five 5-Star custom tunes of your choosing that give your awesome truck more power and all the versatility you need to handle any job. Each of the tunes are built for a specific octane and application, giving you an enormous range of options to get your powerful 3.5L EcoBoost running just the way you need it. Along with the custom tunes, the X4 comes loaded with SCT canned tunes and a ton of features that make it a leaps-and-bounds improvement over the older X-Cal 3 and SF3 tuners while also blowing the competition completely out of the water.
The Most Advanced and Ergonomic Tuner on the Market
The SCT X4 handheld tuner takes everything that was great about the older X-Cal 3s and SF3s and puts it all in a faster, better, and easier to use interface that makes tuning, logging, and monitoring your vehicle's performance easier than ever. The X4 features a huge, clear full-color LCD screen. Despite the huge screen, the device itself is actually smaller, lighter, and more compact than SCT's older tuners and comes with a removable cord for much easier storage. The X4 features an all-new interface with advanced firmware that makes all of the device's functions much faster than the older tuners and even allow the screen to rotate with tuner's orientation, much like modern smart phones. The buttons on the X4 are larger and more responsive allowing for quick, easy navigation of the X4's menus and submenus. The tuner comes with an OBD-II cable for hooking into your vehicle and features built-in WiFi that allows you to wirelessly download new tunes and updates from a computer on you network. If you don't have a WiFi network, the X4 also comes with a standard USB cable for hooking to your home computer. The X4 doesn't just tune your EcoBoost Explorer Sport, it can also read and clear DTC codes, datalog engine running information, and display a wide variety of gauges on its large screen which makes it an effective vehicle monitor.

How our EcoBoost Custom Tuning Works
After you order your tuner, you are sent a
"blank" tuner without any custom tunes. We'll then send you an email that needs to be completely filled out and emailed back to us. However, you'll need to have your tuner before you can complete the form. If you don't receive a tune email within one business day, check your spam or junk mail folders. After your tuner arrives, you'll need to hook it into your vehicle and get your
PCM Strategy Code and put it in your tune email next to "Strategy". Email your completed tune email back to
[email protected]. After we receive your completed tune information, the tune itself will be built and sent to you via email as an attachment. Download the tunes .cef files to your computer and use your updated SCT software from SCT's website to upload the tunes to your tuner. Please be aware that SCT's devices and software are
only compatible with Microsoft Windows computers, and will not work with Mac OS X, Linux, or other operating systems. Once the tunes are in the tuner, you can then tune your truck. If you need more information or assistance, check out our

Custom Tuning and Spark Plugs: we here at Stage 3 and the folks at 5-Star Tuning strongly recommend getting a new set of Ford Motorcraft SP-534 Iridium Spark Plugs and gapping them down to .030". If you already have new SP-534 plugs, please check their gapping before tuning.
Off-Road Exhaust Systems: 5-Star can no longer provide custom tuning for off-road exhaust systems that delete catalytic converters. 5-Star can only tune for catted exhaust systems. However, 5-Star WILL NOT disable your rear oxygen sensors, which may result in a check engine light.
