S&B designs and manufacturers each of their 2011 to 2014 F150 5.0L Cold Air Intake Kits from the ground up to give your truck a lifetime of improved performance. The kit's specialized oiled and reusable Powerstack air filter has deep pleats and is made out of high-quality silicone that's stronger and more resilient to engine bay heat and stress than competing urethane filters. The filter comes housed in a completely new upper air box assembly that attaches to the bottom half of your stock air box and keeps the filter protected from performance-robbing heat soak. S&B's air box comes standard with a sight window to make it easy to check your filter. For the stock bottom half of the air box, S&B includes a new, larger air inlet that helps provide more air to the filter. The kit comes with a new inlet tube that's larger and smoother than stock which helps promote improved airflow all the way to your F150's throttle body. 2013 Ford F-150

The S&B Cold Air Intake arrived the next day as promised and thanks to a very thorough instruction sheet the installation was easy and took this shade tree mechanic about 45 minutes to install. The intake provided a very noticeable growl from under the hood and definitely gave a better throttle response in low gears as well as in passing at highway speeds. As I mainly drive under city conditions I could not attest to any gain in MPG. Anyone considering this upgrade who is on the fence shouldn't be, the instructions made it simple and you will love the way it sounds!

2011 Ford F-150 5.0L

I get this intake and right now am loving it.I have gone up .2 MPG. Not much true, however, because of the great increase in engine noise I have been gunning it. I have not reset my over MPG either. This added better puddle when gun it. The 5.0 sounds much better with it on and is breathing much better. Install is easy and comes with a great instruction guide!

2014 F150 FX4 5.0

Simple install for gear heads, instructions hardly need but were very in depth for beginners. Took 30-45 Minutes to install. The sound on revs and acceleration is golden, deep motor roar. Increases throttle response and a .2 increase in fuel mileage. Use to be a huge K&N fan, S&B has definitely raised the bar in getting more out of you motor. Its also compatible with oil separators and throttle body spacers. Overall 5 star quality.

2012 Ford F-150

Purchased this for my F-150, I wanted an enclosed filter housing due to potential unwanted noise from an open filter element assembly. This fit the bill because the other option replaces the coolant over flow, rather have the factory over flow. The S&B set up is really well thought out, the parts were good quality and the fit and finish were excellent. There isn't an after thought in this kit at all, it fits with no fuss or unnecessary modification to make it work. Install was incredibly easy and accomplished with just a couple hand tools. After install, at throttle input over 25% it is a little louder but sounds great. At partial throttle it's no more louder than the factory air box.

2013 Ford F-150

I've had it the truck now for about a month. Sounds great, not to loud. I can feel a little more mid range power but nothing to extreme. So far the fuel mileage hasn't change according to the dash average MPG gauge.

2014 Ford F150 FX4

excellent fit and finish. Excellent instructions - piece of cake install. The hardest part is removing the factory air inlet and installing the new larger one. A second set of hands helps for that part. Sounds awesome under WOT - very aggressive. Hardly noticeable under normal driving conditions with little drone, but nothing the stereo won't mask. I don't do a lot of highway driving, so I haven't noticed any change in MPGs.

Installed this intake on my truck. Arrived the next day as promised. Took under an hour to install with very clear instructions. It sounds great on a 5.0 engine. I noticed a better throttle response and a little gain on the mpg. Great product. Would recommend

The S&B intake is top notch! Fit and finish are excellent, install is a breeze. Didnt notice any power increase, and with the closed box you really dont hear it (but then my Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust sort of drowned it out), but dang, it sure looks sexy when you lift the hood! One of the better flowing kits I have seen without a doubt. I highly recommend this kit!

2014 F150 5.0

This CAI is awesome!!! You can feel the enhanced throttle response immediately. S&B has data test sheets that show an overall power curve increase and you can feel it, at least I can. The engine growl is an added bonus but not why I bought it. Increased airflow, power to the wheel, and power curve increases out of a bolt on CAI! The one part about the install is removing the lower factory air box getting that damn plastic snorke out. It's a pain in the ass buyer beware but take your time and it'll eventually come out. In my case it finally came out but it doesn't look very good!! That was the longest part of the install me me particularly. It's wel worth the upgrade for sure.

2013 Ford f150 fx4

Bought this intake as a gift for my brother. He's been very happy with it! It did way more than expected as far as sound goes. It really growls when you get on it at low rpm. Taking out easy though or just cruising you don't notice it, which is nice. I would definitely recommend.

Easy to install and works great. No performance gains, seems like I am loosing a little power but once my tuner comes in I will see if it makes any improvement.

Would you recommend this S&B, enclosed CAI over the open K&N CAI?

Your choice is more dependent on personal preference, more than anything else. S&B is a bit higher-quality than the K&N and will have less of an intake section noise than a fully open-air intake. If you want to keep noise down, then S&B is probably your best bet.

I'm currently running a Diamond Eye 4" cat back with no tune. If I install this CAI, will it be ok without a tune? I'm afraid it would be running too lean. Also, what's the difference between the cotton and dry CAI? Thanks!

You would not require a tune with this intake and a Diamond Eye cat-back kit. S&B's Cotton Filter has an oiled, reusable design. S&B's Dry Filter is a non-reusable, disposable design.

Really, any intake alone won't provide a significant difference in power, though S&B's intake is a high-quality kit with a great price point. Your better bet for a more noticeable power increase would be a custom tune from 5-Star.

Will the BBK 85mm work with this CAI?

Yep. They'll work fine together, though the coupler included with the S&B kit does have a pretty tight fit around the throttle body, so you may need to lubricate or heat it to get it fully slipped on.

The kit is not currently CARB-Approved, however, it is currently going through CARB's approval process, and it will likely be given an Executive Order number sometime in the near future.

The filter included in this kit has an oiled media made from cotton composite materials that allow it to be reused. S&B's dry filters are disposable and are made from a paper-composite material.
