When I purchased my F 150, I started looking for a bed step to access the back of the truck. I narrowed it down to the Amp Research and Beststop. Looking at reviews, folks seemed to think the Amp Research was just a little bit better in quality, but with that came a higher price. Looking at the installation videos, I noticed that the bolts holding the Beststop on get replaced upon installation, but the Amp Research reused the the same bolts. These bolts hold the hitch on, and I plan to toe. Since I wasn't sure of the quality of Beststop bolts, I wanted the Amp Research. Stage 3 offered the best price by $20, and there is a $50 rebate. So, at $70 off a typical price, I decided it was time to buy. Shipping was free, and the step arrived two days earlier than originally estimated. The instalation was a breeze. In total, it took about 20 minutes to install. The instructions were thorough, even included torque specs. The step fits up under the bumper perfectly, and when deployed is very sturdy. When I originally purchased my truck, I was a little disappointed it didn't have the factory ladder in the tailgate. However, I like the Amp Research better for price (big time!) and the face I can use it tailgate up, down or even removed.

2017 F-150, less than an hour to install. Had the AMP Research BedStep Bumper Step on the truck for about a month now and wonder why I didn't do this the day I got it home. The AMP Research BedStep Bumper Step makes it easy to step in to the bed of your truck or just reach over the tailgate. Durability seems good it looks like this will last a good long time, but it has only been a month.

I ordered a bed step for my bumper and if fit perfect and easy to install and it was delivered in a reasonable time. I would definitely order from this company again.

The step looks well made. There is a secondary bracket that is meant to be bolted on to the inside bumper but could not quite reach, so installed without it. So far it works great.

Installation was straight forward and the product works excellent. I've only had it a few weeks but so far I give it 5 stars.

Really easy to install - fits perfectly using 3 of the existing rear bumper mounts. Collapses up tight to the bumper when not in use. Frame feels solid - the heavy plastic step is probably the weakest part - only because it's the only plastic bit of the whole step. Installed in about 30 mins. I like it better than the factory tailgate step I had on my last truck. Only downside is the price is a bit high for a step.

I have over 20 mods on my truck but I think this is definitely in the top 3. I use the bed constantly and this is a game changer. It folds out super easy, even with my hands full, keeps me stable while I step up with either the tailgate open or closed, and only closes when I want it to which is by design. I'm 215lbs and it supports me no problem. I've had it on for a month now and already forgotten it's there in terms of appearance, it just blends right in. I would highly recommend this if you are on the fence and are always getting in and out of the bed.

These are a great substitute if you don't have the tailgate step. They are solid, function as described, and they look nice as well. Just one thing - they are NOT reversible like someone in the Q&A mentioned. They only fit driver side. I do hope they'll eventually make a passenger side.

I love this option, my truck didn’t have the factory tailgate step. I had searched Amazon for alternative products and was not impressed with anything they had. When I seen this on YouTube and watching the install I purchased it. My only challenge was the bumper bolts on my truck were not the description of the instructions. I had to grind out some of the socket holes on the bracket allowing the slightly larger tool. Was annoying that Stage 3 Motorsport didn’t have the right information in the instructions. Certainly ford could be to blame however oversight I feel on step production and instructions. I would buy again of course..
