Super dope!! It gets really mean around 2.5k when accelerating and only gets better. The exhaust note is, as the item is titled, thunderous. If you're looking to be the definition of an American then this is the exhaust for you. I heard this system was made purely by American Bald Eagles. When you step on the gas, you're truly liberating your ears and allowing them the hear what absolute freedom sounds like. Long story short, you'll scare that Pruis that's next to you at a red light when you smash the gas. Be free my brothers, American Thunder is here for your American needs. *Bald Eagles screeching*

When I first got the exhaust I was super excited because, before I bought the truck I have now, I had a 99 f150 5.4 and it had a flowmaster on it and it sounded super cool, but it was on the quite side. The install of the new exhaust was very clean and simple to install with a 200 ft pound impact and some ratchets and the tips look very nice. When I first started driving the truck I felt a sense of empowerment when I was driving with that deep aggressive rumble behind me. Around 2000 RPMs the truck is really clean but really deep and also when you are getting on the highway the truck wakes the dead. There is some drone but it sounds good and doesn't hurt your head after long periods of time. In all the exhaust sounds amazing and also makes every body look at you.

Exceeded my expectations. This exhaust sounds great and really makes the 5.0 sounds throaty and deep without being too loud. There is drone will driving down the road but it sounds good and really makes the truck sounds aggressive. I'd definitely recommended it. Install is pretty easy. I dot it myself in about 3 hours

Easy to install and sounds great. Wasn’t too thrilled when both of the bolts on the tips rung off before the tips were even close to tight.

Customer Question In one question that was asked about this exhaust you stated it should not be paired with a cold air intake, the original question was does the vehicle need to be tuned when using this exhaust. Can you explain why you shouldn't use a cold air intake?

Asked by: Kevin Darga - 4/21/2016
Customer Answer This kit will work fine with just about any cold air intake system, and as long as the intake in question doesn't require a tune, then you won't need a tune with this cat-back kit.

Customer Question Well th le American thunder cat back system work with a long tube mid length kit that has 3" tubing?

Asked by: Keith - 3/23/2016
Customer Answer That's going to depend on the set of long tube headers that you have in mind. Some aftermarket header systems can only be used with certain styles of cat-back systems (namely Stainless Works' header kits). However, most others can be used with any stock-replacement cat-back system designed for the factory mid-pipes.

Customer Question this exhaust systems work with my 2012 ford f150 5.0 crew cab? and how its the drone in cab sound?

Asked by: cristian ford f150 5.0 crew cab - 3/17/2014
Customer Answer This exhaust system will fit any F150 wheelbase and cab/bed configuration. If you have a SuperCrew with a 5.5ft bed, you'll use the kit's standard inlet pipe and won't need to do any cutting. If you have a SuperCrew with a 6.5ft bed, you'll need to use and included extension pipe and trim 6" off of it, according to Flowmaster's instructions. As far as drone, there's very little at cruising and none at idle. When we drove around with it, you could definitely tell there was an aftermarket exhaust kit on the truck, but it wasn't loud enough to force us to talk louder or turn up the stereo. It's a very good, decently aggressive exhaust system that just sounds good.
