2018 Ford F150 King Ranch 4x4
I wanted to level my truck after getting 295x60r20 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires installed. These coilovers fit the bill. I installed them on the truck and kept them set at the preset height which was about 2. Installation was easy enough for me to do it in my garage. It took about 4 hours to do everything. The hardest part was getting the truck jacked up high enough to set the truck frame on my 12 ton jack stands. I had to rotate the reservoirs while mounting them to keep the hoses tucked up close to the truck frame. The tires were rubbing on the reservoir hoses at full turn until I rotated the them. If I had aftermarket wheels or spacers to move the tires away from the truck, clearing the hoses probably wouldn't have been an issue. I really like the DSC adjusters on the reservoirs. I was able to dial in the ride to my liking. The truck rides firmer, but not factory squishy. It holds corners better with less body lean and it doesn't rock side-to-side after turning a corner and letting the steering wheel self-center on its own. I can ride over parking lot speed bumps and the truck easily soaks up the jolts. I have the Fox 2.5 reservoir shocks with DSC adjusters mounted in the rear of the truck and the truck doesn't kick sideways like it did with the factory shocks while driving over the speed bumps. The rake is about 1 1/4 now instead of a little over 3. I like the look much better.

Customer Question What is the load rating for this spring? Is it the same 650 lbs as the Fox 2.0 series?

Customer Answer These coilovers use a 550lb-in spring, though their springs are longer than those on the Fox 2.0s.

Customer Question Will these fit on the F150 2021 right out of the box?

Customer Answer They will not. The 2021 F150s have a different suspension geometry. Fox is planning on releasing 2021 F150 specific part numbers in the future.

Customer Question your pictures show the reservoir mounted at the top of the coils and on the frame forward of the wheels. which mounting method is included or are both included?

Customer Answer Fox's instructions have you frame-mount the reservoirs forward, though it is possible to use the included bracket and hardware for a strut tower mount. There's pros and cons to each, but you can do either.

Customer Question Have you seen anyone having issues with the resivoir hose getting rubbed on the foxs?

Customer Answer Not generally with the recommended mounting locations and the coilovers set at 2" of ride height or less. Folks that try to push the preload to squeeze out extra ride height or use custom mounts are the ones that tend to have hose issues/contact.

Customer Question 18 F-150 Fx4 Screw I’m looking to add 17x8.5 method wheels and go with the biggest tire I can. I’m guessing that is 33”? Would it be possible to go with 34”?

Customer Answer What tire you can potentially fit depends on a few factors including how wide of a tire you want to run, whether you want to deal with any rubbing/trimming, whether you're going to add an aftermarket bump that will increase clearance, whether you're going to add aftermarket upper control arms that will reduce clearance, and what kind of look you want. The biggest tire we generally recommend to avoid trimming and rubbing is a 33x11.50" or close metric equivalent. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about what you're looking for.

Customer Answer You can, though you will need to use a spring compressor and lower the adjustment collar using a suitable 2.5 coilover spanner wrench.

Customer Question Can you run a 35" tire with the 2.5" coilovers? Also, what size tire is the white F150 running that is pictured?

Customer Answer Whether you can run a 35" tire or not is going to depend on how wide of a 35" tire you're going to use, how much trimming you're willing to do, and what wheel you're using and its width, backspacing and offsets. If you're willing to trim a ton and cut your crash bars, you can go with a 35x12.50" all day. Most folks aren't willing to do that. For the least amount of trimming while still approaching a 35" diameter, your best bet would be a 285/75R18 (or equivalent 35x11" tire) on a 9" wide wheel with a +18 to +12mm offset. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about what you're looking for.

Customer Answer In theory, these coilovers come out of the box pre-set at 2" of leveling, and no additional adjustments should be needed.

Customer Question Will these work in conjunction with a BDS leveling kit, assuming they are adjusted to 0” of lift?

Customer Answer These coilovers can level up to 2" on their own, and we generally do not recommend using them in conjunction with an additional leveling kit, though you technically can. If you're trying to use these coilovers with a lift kit, your better bet would be to use the BDS Fox 2.5 DSC Kit for 4" Lift Kits or 6" Lift Kits.

Customer Answer These coilovers generally come out of the box preset at 2" of leveling, though that can vary in our experience. In general, the Fox coilovers provide a softer street ride over the ICONs, though the ICONs for the 2015-2018 F150s isn't overly harsh.

Customer Question Do these fit 2WD trucks of the same year?

Customer Answer Fox only has these coilovers as fitting a 4WD truck. However, you can technically bolt these coilovers up to a 2WD F150, you'll just get slightly more lift than what they're rated for on the 4WD F150s.
