High-Performance ICON Coilovers Specifically For Your 2015-2020 F150

ICON's 2.5 Coilovers are a mainstay of the off-roading world, and these powerful, high-quality coilover systems can help transform your 2015-2020 F150 into an aggressive off-road machine in practically no time at all. Unlike the majority of their competition, ICON wasn't satisfied with the way their 2014 F150s coilovers rode and performed on the newly re-designed F150s, despite the fact that they bolted up. So ICON started over from scratch and designed, manufactured, and extensively tested a new 2.5 coilover that is specifically valved for the lighter curb weights of the 2015-2020 F150s. The end result is a pair of high-performance coilovers that get you just what your 2015-2020 F150 needs to rocket around off-road. Each ICON 2.5 Coilover for these F150s drops right into place of your stock strut and spring and can even adjust your truck's front ride height up to 2.5" over stock so that you can fit on larger tires for a great look and improved off-road performance.

Large-Diameter Shock Body with High-Performance Coilover Spring

The ICON 2.5 Coilovers were designed from the ground up to provide your 2015-2020 F150 a huge improvement in off-road performance over your F150's stock hardware. Each one of these coilovers features a 2.5" diameter shock body that allows for a huge increase in oil capacity over your stock struts. The shock bodies are made out of high-quality aluminum which helps make heat dissipation more effective over stock, even in extreme off-road applications. The coilovers are wrapped up in an ICON engineered Eibach coilover spring that has improved response and less bounce than the factory spring without overly effecting your street ride quality. The coilovers have upper and lower mounts and spring perches made out of CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum that come standard with a black anodized finish for a great look and corrosion resistance. Each coilover is designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for stock and comes with installation instructions and hardware.

How would the ride quality of these be affected if the ride height is adjusted down to about 1" of lift? Would that change in preload be significant enough to be noticeable from the standard setting?

The ride quality would likely be less stiff and make a noticeable difference, but the ride will still be pretty stiff due to the ICON coilover's design and spring.

Do the coils come ready to add a external reservoir at a later time?

They do not. You would have to send them in for revalving. It's much more cost-effective to get the remote reservoirs up front.

I have these on my 17 F150 now. If I adjust these to stock height will they be alright to use with a 6in lift kit and the spacer provided in the kit?

As long as you set the coilovers at a 0" ride height and reuse the lift kit's strut spacer, you should be good to go. Just keep in mind you'll need ICON's 2.5 Coilover Spanner Wrench or similar tool to adjust these coilovers down.

I have a 2016 f150 4x4. If I got this, what is the largest tire I could clear?

That's going to depend entirely on what wheel's you're planning to use, specifically their widths, offset, and backspacing, as well as whether or not you're willing to trim or if you have an aftermarket front bumper that allows for more tire clearance. In general, we don't recommend going larger than a 33x11.50" tire.

(2016 F150 2WD) I read in a prior question that these will fit the 2WD model, but will add more height then they would on the 4WD model. That being said, can these be adjusted down to acheive 2" of leveling on the 2WD model?

You can adjust them down by using ICON's 2.5 Coilover Spanner Wrench, though you will have to play your adjustments by eyeball, since I don't have thread to ride height measurements for the 2WD/RWD F150s.

What is the ride height of these out of the box? Are they worth the extra money rather than the fox if I am using them at 2"? Mainly on road as well

The coilovers are generally pre-set at around 2.5" right out of the box. As far as them being worth it, that really depends on what kind of off-road driving you do. If your truck is mainly a street truck and what off-roading it does isn't very aggressive (i.e. going camping or hunting on semi-maintained roads), then the ICON's probably aren't necessary, and you should do the Fox 2.0s instead. If you do trail ride or do other fast and aggressive and off-roading, then you should stick with the ICONs.

IMHO they are worth every penny. It depends on your use and EXPECTATIONS. I was thoroughly disappointed with the handling of my 2015 F150, 90/10 street/dirt, so much so, I was gonna trade the thing. First, the truck would bounce all over the road at speed. Was dangerous! Second, it wouldn't hold a line thru corners(we have these tight, windy parkways here in NY IE.Taconic State PKWY). My wife was terrified to drive it. I now have 2.5" ICONs all around and LOVE it! The truck handles like a German sport sedan. It holds a line thru corners and soaks up everything from 150 yo cobblestones to VW sized potholes with a smile. I HAD Fox 2.0s on the rear and removed them for the ICON CDCV units, which I run at #4 all the time. My only regret was not going for the CDCV up front. IMHO, they could be a tad stiffer. If you value handling and performance, DO IT! They ROCK! The ride is firm, level and quiet. There are no vibrations, rattles, taps, creeks, "boing"s or other annoyances. I suppose it feels more like an F250?
If you can change shocks, you can install them yourself with ordinary tools in a couple hours NP.

What rear block would have a 2015 f150 4wd sit level with these sitting at 2.5inches?

No block at all. In general, 2.5" of front lift will make a 2015-2016 F150 sit about dead-level on their own with no rear block required.
