Hauling or towing heavy loads can cause the rear of your F150 to sag, which can have adverse effects on the stability and control you have while driving. Hellwig is there to help you combat these problems with the EZ-990 Helper Spring Kit. This set of secondary helper leaf springs work with the factory leaf springs to add up to 500 lbs. of load support, restoring control and stability to the rear of your truck. The EZ-990 Helper Springs are crafted from heat-treated ASTM 5160 alloy spring steel for durability and lasting support. If you need to maintain proper rear ride height while towing or hauling, installing the Hellwig EZ-990 Helper Springs is the solution.

Simple to Install

Regaining control and stability, while towing or hauling, doesn't need to be difficult. Other solutions might require compressors that can fail or airbags that can leak over time, but Hellwig has made installation and maintenance simple with the EZ-990 Helper Springs. The EZ-990 springs mount directly under the factory axle U-bolt plates and all required U-bolts and hardware are provided by Hellwig. Installation is fast and simple, though it may require some drilling in some situations. The springs are proudly made in the USA and Hellwig offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

It depends on how you set them. On their lowest load settings, you'll only have a slight increase in stiffness when unloaded. If you set them pretty high, you'll get a noticeable change in ride quality. If you want to avoid changing your unloaded ride, you should probably look at a SumoSprings Kit.

I currently have a '16 SCREW 4x4. I removed the factory leveling block and installed a basic AAL in its place. How different than an AAL is this product? If I were to want this new product, would it replace the existing AAL? If so, what would it do from a rear lift standpoint (the AAL added about an inch-and-a-half of lift).

Unlike an add-a-leaf kit, the Hellwig Helper Spring installs over and around the factory leaf pack instead of inside it. You wouldn't necessarily need to replace your current add-a-leaf setup, but it is hard to say how much benefit this kit would provide you with an add-a-leaf kit already installed and what it would do to your ride height, since we haven't tried the combination ourselves.

can this go on a lowered F150, to be more specific i have a lowered 2019 F150 and need to tow a 17 foot boat, will this kit work with my belltech 3/5 drop kit? or is there a kit available?

This spring kit will not work on a 3/5 drop kit with an axle flip or any other lower kit that uses an axle flip. Unfortunately, you're not going to have a ton of options when it comes to load control with a 3/5 drop kit. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 for possible solutions.

Will these work on a lifted truck?

It depends on the lift. As long as your lift/leveling kit does not replace or alter the factory leaf pack and just uses a larger rear block to provide the rear lift, then this Helper Spring Kit will fit just fine.

I installed a front 2" level kit which causes my headlights to shine into and bother oncoming driver vision. Will this raise the rear and return my factory rake?

This kit will give you back some amount of rear ride height, though your much better bet would just be to adjust your headlight aim, especially since this spring kit tends to stiffen up unloaded ride. Alternatively, you can look into Eibach's 2.50" rear block kit, which adds about an inch of rear ride height.

I have a fiberglass topper, and wood drawers that weight about 500 + lbs. my truck is only an inch off level and I plan to add a 2” level kit. Would these springs add enough hight to give me some rake for towing? I need like a 1.5-2” rear lift out of these

We haven't tried the EZ-990 springs as of yet, but I doubt that they will give you the ride height you need. If you're going to run your topper and drawers full time, you're much better bet would be a set of Auto Spring Add-a-Leafs, which will give you a solid 1.5" of lift over stock and better support your current loads.
