As per usual, we here at Stage 3 Motorsports have been busy trying to find the best Mustang performance parts out there and get them on your Pony. Anyway, the newest entries to our website are from B&M Racing and Hurst Shifters, two of the most well-known aftermarket transmission companies in existence. B&M specializes in automatic transmissions and manufactures an impressive lineup of full automatic transmissions, torque converters, and flexplates. Hurst is an almost legendary brand and have been making some the best shifters on the market for the last 50 years. Going along with our clutches and flywheels, Stage 3 has now filled out our performance transmission parts and components to help beef up your Pony's guts for other high-horsepower modifications.

We're most excited about carrying B&M Racing products. Not just because they make excellent performance parts, but now we have an excellent lineup of full transmissions to mate with your custom engine builds after you're done grabbing up a stroker kit, short block, or even a full ROUSH crate engine. We're offering a mix of both classic and more modern Ford automatic transmissions, including the Ford C-6, the Fox Body favorite Ford AOD automatic transmission, the Ford 4R70W automatic transmission, and finally the Ford 5R55S automatic transmission. Both the C-6 and AOD transmissions are perfect for your average restoration job on a classic Mustang or other automatic Ford. The B&M automatic transmissions for the newer-model Mustangs, however, are entirely different animals. The 4R70W and the 5R55S available here at Stage 3 are actually uprated versions of their stock cousins and can handle up to 600 horsepower, allowing you to build a mean drag or street car around your automatic gearbox. If you're on more of a budget, but want a better launch off the line, then you'll be more than happy with a new B&M Tork Master torque converter that are available with up to a 3000 RPM stall. New B&M Racing flexplates are also available to replace worn stock versions on basically any Mustang year or submodel.

Fans of stick shifts and the trusty standard transmissions will be more than happy with our selection of awesome Hurst Shifter products. Hurst Shifters have been a staple of the Ford Mustang, and muscle cars in general, for five decades, and Hurst has worked hard to hone their craft for the latest generations of Mustangs. All of Hurst's fantastic shifters are built from the ground up to give you shorter throws, smoother shifts, no more missed gears, and classy good looks that spruce up the cockpit of just about any Mustang. Their brand spanking new 2011 to 2012 Mustang Billet Plus 2 shifter offers up a perfect balance of looks and performance by reducing your throws by 27% and allowing you to fly through your gears for quick merges onto the freeway or for fast shifting at the track or drag strip. One of the more unique items in Hurst's inventory is their Original Roll Control Kit, more commonly referred to as a ''line-lock kit'', that locks up your front brakes and allows you to do more effective burnouts without wearing out your rear brakes. The kit can also be used to prevent a Mustang with a manual transmission from rolling over the line before the tree goes green. Our current Hurst inventory is fairly limited, but we're adding new performance gear all the time, so check back soon.

So, we have most of your transmission needs now covered, unless you need a full manual transmission, though we're hoping for some news on that fairly soon. In any case, B&M Racing's automatic transmissions are some of the best on the market and are a great solution for your custom Mustang or engine build. Their other components are also top-notch and can help you with rebuild or restoration projects. 1998 to 2010 Mustangs who are pushing the limits of their stock automatic transmissions can upgrade with one of B&M's transmissions that are more capable of handling all those spare horses. For everyone rocking a manual transmission (the correct transmission), then our good friends over at Hurst have you covered with enough short-throw, stylish goodies to keep your Mustang looking and operating in pristine condition. Luckily, most of Ford's manual transmissions can handle more power than the automatics from the same year, and probably only require a [[new clutch]:search=mustang clutch] and/or flywheel to handle high-horsepower applications and track use.
