Lightweight, Adjustable Unit
A panhard rod improves handling by preventing unwanted movement of your Mustang's suspension system. Your Mustang's stock panhard bar is made with small diameter tubing and uses weak rubber bushings that wear down easily under high-speed driving conditions. BMR's Tubular Adjustable Panhard Rod addresses the shortcomings of the stock component. Since the panhard rod is responsible for keeping the rear end centered in the chassis, there is a significant load placed on the panhard rod mounts during cornering. Due to this load, Ford reinforced the mount with a vertical brace that parallels the panhard rod. Unfortunately the factory stock brace is little more than stamped, light gauge metal and does little for reinforcement. Upgrading your panhard rod support with BMR's boxed tube support reinforces this critical mount to prevent deflection and give you the kind of support and rigidity you need for high-speed cornering during any type of competitive racing.
Your Mustang's factory panhard bar is made of mid-grade steel. BMR panhard rods are made from larger diameter 1.25", heavy wall DOM tubing and utilize greaseable, spiral-fluted polyurethane bushings. You will notice the stiffness it provides for your Mustang's rear end. On top of that, BMR's upgrade is 5 lbs lighter than your stock unit. This kit can be easily installed in less than 1 hour and the passenger side has a slight bend for additional exhaust clearance. Aside from its heavy-duty construction, BMR's Tubular Adjustable Panhard Rod is adjustable, allowing you to change rear end offset to maximize the performance of your car's suspension system. BMR's panhard bar also features durable urethane bushings for even more chassis rigidity.
